About the adventure

You awaken to the stench of mold with a loamy hint. Darkness surrounds you and your now open eyes perform little better than when they were closed. You are surrounded by rock, staunch walls preventing any escape. The only exit is blocked by thick iron bars, which only lead to more cave. You have no weapons, no armor, magic doesn't function, and you are bound with chains. You are trapped. A Drow priestess comes before you and tells you your life is no longer yours. It belongs to her. Your destiny is to be a slave of the Drow until such time you can no longer serve, then you will be cast aside. You are worth only what work you can do for them, and that is all. This is your fate, forevermore. You are whipped. You are beaten. You are stepped on. You are spit on. They laugh at you for your peril. Made to work at the prison you now live in, your fingers bleed for no gain. This is suppose to be your life now? No. No, it will not be so. You WILL escape. You must. But even if you manage that seemingly impossible task, you are still trapped countless miles beneath the surface world. What dangers lurk in those dark tunnels? For all you know, you could travel the rest of your life and never see the sunlight ever again. But you can't let that stop you. This will not be your life. You will do whatever it takes to see that sunlight once again. Out of the Abyss is a level 1-15 campaign that starts the players off as prisoners with nothing and then thrusts them into the Underdark with nary but their wits about them. Danger lurks around every corner and the party must work together. Survival is key, but if you're smart about how you go about things, you just might see the light of the sun once again. However, surviving and escape isn't the only trouble you will face. Something is stirring in the dark that was better left undisturbed and now the whole of the Underdark, and perhaps even the entire world, could be in peril. Free Session 0!

About me

I enjoy playing and running games of any kind really, enjoying the random chance of the dice and the stories that come from it all. I like all facets of ttrpgs, (Combat, roleplay, puzzles) and am open to any variation of that. I have played and run games on and off for over 20 years and have consistently run a game weekly for over a year now.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation happens during session 0 and stats will be discussed then. Character will start at level 1. Will be using any of the WOTC published books for character creation and the 2014 ruleset only.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players require a mic, a Discord account and the program installed, and a Roll 20 account.

What DM Revan brings to the table

Game is run on Roll20 with maps and tokens used for combat. Player tokens will be made after character creation, either with an image provided by the player or I'll find one for you. I run the games pretty RAW rules wise. Combat is done tactically, enemies will act as I feel they would. NPC's will be voice acted to try and give them more character.

Homebrew rules

Nat 20's and Nat 1's add bonuses and hindrances, respectively. Using Hero Points as a reward system.
