Creating your character
There will be a session zero where we discuss characters, party composition, etc. Players will create level one characters in D&D Beyond using standard array for their stats. All beginning character options faithful to the Forgotten Realms setting are acceptable but magic items or extra powerful abilities or weapons must be cleared with the DM.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will, bare minimum, need a mic, a discord account, and a D&D Beyond account.
What Maggie Heath brings to the table
I narrate with a focus on sensory detail and provide ambient music to create an immersive atmosphere. I use my acting training to vividly evoke each character and provide hand outs to give the game world a tactility in spite of the digital medium.

Safety
How Maggie Heath creates a safe table
I have three tiers for the content of my games. On Screen: events that are explicitly depicted in the narrative of the game world, such as character conflict or defusing a trap. Fade to Black: events that are referred to in the narrative of the game but not explicitly depicted, such as sex scenes or upsetting backstories. Off Screen: events that aren’t dealt with at all in the narrative because they’re upsetting or boring. (Where do they go to the bathroom in a dungeon crawl anyway?) We discuss boundaries in session zero where I create a list of themes players want to see, what things they don’t mind seeing, and things they firmly don’t want to see. I try my best to respect those boundaries but if a player gets upset they DM me on discord, I rewind to before the offending topic and we either proceed or take a break based on the needs of the player.
