About the adventure
Step into a classic medieval world where shadows gather beyond the village borders and whispers of dark forces stir in the woods. This adventure is perfect for new and returning players who crave a blend of mystery, suspense, and heroic action. You’ll face strange signs, eerie rumors, and unexpected dangers as you explore a land on the brink of something sinister. The game strikes a balance between immersive roleplaying, creative combat, and exploration, giving every player a chance to shine through teamwork and clever choices. Whether you enjoy solving puzzles, uncovering secrets, or charging into battle, this story offers something for everyone. We will focus on storytelling and player creativity, using theater of the mind and simple visuals to bring the adventure to life. During certain pivotal moments or during more highly technical combat I'll will use more in depth online resources to bring the game to life. If you’re ready for a dark and thrilling fantasy journey where every decision matters, gather your friends and prepare to dive in.
Game style
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
This one-shot is for beginners and experienced players alike. This is focused on fun, roleplay, and exploration. Combat will be simple and story-driven, with things to be revealed along the way. Come ready to collaborate and have a good time. Voice required (mic on), camera optional. We'll use Discord for voice and Roll20 for gameplay. Feel free to be creative, daring and adventurous. This is all about experiencing the kind of fantasy and freedom no other medium has to offer. I'll do my best to facilitate that.

What I provide
I will do character voices and utilize ambient music. I'll help guide intense combat. Whether it is partially via theater of the mind or fully is up to the players. If they want a more tactical experience I'll provide that for them during the critical moments of the story through roll20. I will follow the rules and use the rule of cool. The rules are necessary to have a functioning game but when it doesn't make sense for the story or it keeps the player from doing something awesome I will step in and do what I can to continue to have a fun and balanced game. I will do my best to provide you a quality experience. My job is to provide an environment for the players to shine.
Gameplay details
I will discuss beforehand what everyone is comfortable with. I will not cross any boundaries of any sort. In session 0 we will go over things like the level of violence described and other heavy topics that the players may want to omit. I believe in being clear honest and transparent with the players by giving them a clear picture of the level of mature themes will be in each session. While I currently have a content warning feel free to ask me if changing certain things is necessary.

How will character creation work
For this adventure, players will create their characters before the first session to help us jump into the game smoothly. I recommend starting at level 3, which gives your character some interesting abilities without being overwhelming. We’ll use the standard Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules for character creation. You can use the Player’s Handbook as a primary guide, but please avoid any homebrew or third-party content unless we discuss it first. You can choose your character’s race, class, and background from the core books. For ability scores, we’ll use the standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or point buy—whichever you prefer. If you want help building your character, I’m happy to assist or review your choices before the game starts. We’ll keep it simple and fun, focusing on characters that fit the classic fantasy setting.
