About the adventure

🩸 Blood for the Blood God: The Fall of Orcus The Abyss churns. The Witch-King bleeds the world dry. And the gods have turned their faces away. You are no mere adventurer. You are legend given flesh—heroes who have shattered kingdoms, slain deathless tyrants, and walked planes as easily as mortals breathe. But now you stand at the edge of the unthinkable: the only way to stop the spread of undeath is to enter the rotting spiral of the Abyss itself... and steal the Wand of Orcus. Your journey begins in the shadow of the Witch-King’s blasphemous citadel, where the truth is unveiled: the Witch-King draws his power not from mortal magic, but from Orcus, the Demon Prince of Undeath himself. To stop the corruption at its root, you must: Descend into the Abyssal wastes, where chaos reigns and death is a mercy. Battle Demogorgon, the twin-headed Prince of Madness. Confront Orcus on his throne in Thanatos and rip his wand from his cold, unliving grip. This is no tale for fledglings. You will start the session wielding the full might of level 20 characters—mythic heroes with god-slaying power, and nothing to lose. šŸ’€ A One-Shot for the Gods High-octane, epic-level combat balanced for tactical depth and spectacle. Character Creation Guidelines: 🧠 Level: Characters start at Level 20 — you are legends walking into the jaws of the Abyss. šŸ“š Sources: Only official Wizards of the Coast material is allowed (no Critical Role, no third-party content). šŸŽ Multiclassing: Fully allowed — create something wild, weird, or wonderfully optimized. 🧮 Stats: Point Buy system for ability scores. 🧰 Attunement: You may attune to up to 6 items in this one-shot. Push your mythic potential. šŸŽ Magic Items: 2 Artifact or Legendary 3 Very Rare 3 Rare 2 Uncommon As much common gear as you can carry (šŸ“¬ Contact me if your items require rolling, or if you want help finding something fitting your concept!) Thematic setpieces steeped in infernal lore, dripping with atmosphere. Death is likely. Glory is certain. Character sheets prebuilt and ready—or bring your own, and I’ll approve and optimize with you. The fate of the planes hangs on a thread. Do you dare steal from a god of death?

About me

šŸ•Æļø Storyteller. Voice Actor. Master of Cinematic Mayhem. šŸ•Æļø Welcome to the table. I’m DM Maximus - a professional GM with over a decade of experience weaving brutal, beautiful tales across systems and genres. What to expect

Preparing for the session

How to Prepare: šŸŽ² Build Your Character in D&D Beyond (you'll receive a campaign link upon signup with all shared content unlocked). Come to the table with a finished Level 20 character, or contact me for help if you want to collaborate on something epic. šŸŽ§ Join the Discord – You’ll receive an invite after signing up. We use Discord for voice chat. A working microphone is required. No webcam needed. 🌐 No Downloads Required – Foundry VTT runs in your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Opera recommended). No setup headaches—just click the link and you’re in. šŸ“ƒ Bring a Backstory, or at least a Vibe – Even in a one-shot, knowing your character’s style, goal, or tragic flaw helps bring the drama. 🧷 Safety First – We use an X Card system, accessible anonymously during play. All players will have the link to our digital tool to pause or redirect scenes if needed. Come ready to throw down with demon princes in the Abyss. Bring your strongest builds, boldest ideas, and darkest dreams.

I’d rather ask ā€œhow do we make this moment happen?ā€ than say ā€œyour sheet doesn’t allow that.ā€ šŸ”¹ No downloads required: Foundry runs in your browser. Join the Discord, hop in with a working mic, and you’re good to go.

How DM Maximus creates a safe table

Once a player signs up, they’ll be sent a private link to join the campaign Discord server—this is where voice chat happens during games, announcements are posted, and you can connect with the group between sessions. A D&D Beyond campaign link will also be provided so you can access all officially published content up to Spelljammer, fully shared and unlocked. Safety tools are part of the table culture. I use a digital X-Card that can be activated anonymously during the game via the VTT, allowing any player to signal discomfort instantly and discreetly. We’ll also cover table rules and personal boundaries together in Session 0, which includes both discussion and gameplay. This table runs on respect, high-stakes storytelling, and shared badassery—no one should ever feel unsafe at the table. If something comes up mid- or post-session, I’m always available for check-ins and aftercare in private.
