About the adventure

The Crooked Moon invites you to dive into the world of Folk Horror in the fifth edition, where you can enjoy tools designed to thrill and chill your friends in a memorable game, inspired by eerie folklore, classic horror films, and all the nostalgic vibes of Halloween. Who wouldn’t want to face off against those creatures from their childhood nightmares, or even take on their forms? If you're ready to embrace the adventure and aren’t too much of a scaredy cat, and if DND is your passion, then hop on this wild journey to become a true horror legend! Your "Mummy" would be so proud of you... Mwwwhahhhaaahaahaaa!

About me

Having been a player for nearly six years and being a DM for my home game for almost three years, I want to bring a home game feel to online play. I want players to feel safe exploring their characters while enjoying the freedom to try crazy shenanigans designed to derail the DM's cunning plans.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can create your characters on DNDBeyond! Feel free to make them before Session 0, but I’ll take a look at each one to make sure everything is in good shape. Each player will roll for their character's stats manually, with the goal of reaching at least 70 total points across all stats. Since this is a horror campaign, let's try to stick to characters and backstories that fit the theme, but I'm always open to having a chat about them!

The current party

Party is currently at level 3 party consists of the following (all species are available not restricted to Crooked Moon material) Curseborn Cleric Curseborn Artificer-Barbarian (not duel class two individuals) (Dr Jeckal and Mr Hyde) Relicborn Rogue Harvest born Druid

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All players must have access to either a computer or a mobile device, along with a working microphone for game discussions. You will require access to free accounts for D&D Beyond and Discord, and optionally, you may use Beyond20, an integrated programme that simplifies rolling those special circumstances. I’m always delighted to help with the rules! Having a good grasp of horror tropes will definitely be useful, especially since some spooky and scary things are bound to happen.

What peter brings to the table

I like my players to have fun and enjoy the campaign as much as possible, and I will allow players to have fun doing what they want to do. I tend to go by rules as written but if it works for the scene thematically or we can justify it, I am happy to bend the rules. I use ambient music if people wish to listen, and I like to adjust the difficulty of combat to match the parties' skill levels. (No one shots for the BBEG). WARNING: your character may die!!

Homebrew rules

I have several Homebrew rules I use for dice, but aprart from that everything is the same.
