About the adventure
"Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather. Or the . . . Ah, I don't know. That π΅π©πͺπ―π¨. That πππππ." -Grand Theft Auto V (2013, Rockstar Games). πππ₯ππ¨π¦π ππ¨ ππ‘π ππ’ππ² ππ ππ‘π πππ§πππ« π¨π ππ‘π ππ¨π«π₯π. πππ¬ππ₯π¨π¦. The Apple of Aroden's Eye. His statue overlooks Kortos Bay and welcomes the newest migrants to the city with his torch held high. 5,000 years old Absalom is, and another 5,000 years will it remain. From the glitz and glamor of the Ascendant Court to the poverty of the Puddles, this city has withstood raging war and raging weather, would-be conquerers from within and without. This city has birthed heroes. This city has birthed gods. This city is. This city will always be. And it's one of the worst places to live. Get to Goka, for real. ππππ'π ππππ' ππ Nothing good. The city is only a few years past the destructive ππ’ππ π π¨π πππ¬ππ₯π¨π¦, when the lich-lord πππ«-πππ©π‘π¨π§ and his undead army attacked, the Whispering Tyrant after the very Starstone itself. Absalom rebuilds, the scars of that terrible battle still tender and prone to bleeding. Across the Inner Sea tensions boil, notably between Andoran and Cheliax. Border clashes and naval skirmishes happen with growing frequency. Most recently, a swath of thefts have occured across the city, targeting items of holy or divine origins. Worst of all? You're to blame. ππππ ππππππ Who are you? You're a native to the city, or a citizen new to its streets. Maybe even a dreaded tourist. You're anybody. You might even be ππΌπΊπ²π―πΌπ±π, but more than likely you are π»πΌπ―πΌπ±π. That doesn't matter. Who you are is secondary to who you π¬ππ§π - somebody stole your face and committed crimes in your name. Maybe they did that because you're already against the law, maybe you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn't matter. What does matter is you're now at the mercy of the APCD - Absalom Public Constabulary Department. A chance is being taken on you all - maybe you really didn't do this. But you gotta prove it. And if not, well . . . nice knowing you. π πππππππ ππππππ What can you say about Absalom? Sure, you can repeat what the travel brochures say, but what is the city, really? The answer: A mess. A big mess. It just happens to be a very pretty mess. From the Ivy Distrinct's newly booming film industry to the rumbling thunder of the city's Railcarriage Network, the neon lights and the street hustlers hocking fake artifacts down the near the Starstone Cathedral, the city is as false as it is true. Maybe it's both. The promise of godhood looms large over the streets, and if you can't be a god, you can be the next best thing: Outrageously wealthy. Absalom isn't so much a city as it is a game. Players, pieces, cheaters, winners and losers. Which are you going to be?

About me
Hey there! I'm ππ²π₯π―π’π ππ¨π¨π§, proprietor of Moonlight Drive-In Theater, your number one stop for pulpy fun tabletop games! I hope you brought your 3D glasses. I was born in a cave, shackled to an old CRT television and forced to watch the worst schlock humanity could ever create. This has turned me into a mad scientist of genre. Really, though: I've been playing RPGs for around 15 years now. I cut my teeth on forum based, systemless roleplaying that I was eternally dissatisifed with, for it lacked that certain risk. That risk being dice! If I wanted to write, I would, and I do! But within the collaborative world of roleplaying on a tabletop, it's not enough to just say what happens! It's gotta be OUT of your hands - like a die tumbling on the table, cocked against some dorito crumb and just barely giving you that 20. My journey started with Pathfinder 1e with friends, then did a hard shift into GURPS. A smattering of other systems made their way onto our table before we settled on 5e, playing that before coming full circle with Pathfinder 2e. Homecoming! While I appreciate systems and mechanics, my background as such has given me a strong narrative-bent to my Game Mastering. I love stories and I love characters more than I love critical hits (though those also slap immensely.) The collaborative nature of TTRPGs is something that genuinely cannot be replicated elsewhere, and I want to share that joy with my players and my fellow Game Masters! REGARDING THE REVIEWS: these are my pals from offsite who are reviewing my GM style, not bots or paid-for reviews!

Sylvie's games always blow my mind. The amount of love and effort she puts into the games she runs, the worlds she builds, is endless and shows in every aspect of the game. I always felt I did my best work with my characters when I was in a game run by Sylvie; the way she goes so hard on everything inspires everyone else at the table to match her energy. I've laughed, I've cried, I've had some of the best damn nights of my life rolling dice with Sylvie Moon.
Sylvie is a wonderful game master. Interacting with her characters is fun and builds upon the setting. Helped me build a character that feels seamlessly integrated into the world. Have a good balance of roleplay and combat when necessary. If you are interested in joining one of her games definitely do you wont regret it.
I don't want to be accused of bias when rating a dear friend, so to start negatively, she has a tendency to take feedback very personally in a way that sometimes interferes with the game. You might make a critique of her GM style and she might get defensive or get really down on herself. She respects her players and wants them to enjoy the game, but she gets very attached to them and takes any hiccups really hard. Be honest with her, but make sure you remind her about the things you do enjoy and if she's doing a good job overall. Thankfully, there is a lot to enjoy. When she sinks her teeth into it, a campaign with her is like nothing else. She has a passion for creating storyworlds that is astounding, and if your creativity syncs up with hers, the enthusiasm feedback loop is intoxicating. She likes to take big swings and go hard with her ideas. Not the person to look to for brakes or subtlety. If you like cinematic set pieces, absurd melodrama and an overstuffed burrito of pop culture references, she's your gal. When allowed to create an original setting, she will take it to every possible extreme (within player comfort of course). If using an existing setting, it's going to have her own signature Sylvie style while still digging very deep into the lore as written. Even if her games aren't to your taste, you will not regret giving her a try. Her GMing must be seen to be believed.
Character creation
Creating your character
π² Running both Free Archetype and Gradual Ability Boost. π€ Collaborative character creation within a dedicated Discord server. π Allowing uncommon and rare options, provided there's a good story angle along with it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A discord account and a decent microphone set up is all I ask. I do NOT require you to voice your character if you don't want to - you can speak in your normal voice or even describe what your character is talking about. What I DO ask is that you have a strong idea of who you are playing. I love characters and I respond the most to folks who have a good idea of who they are. Being somewhat knowledgable of Golarion lore is a bonus, but not at all a requirement.
