About the adventure

Welcome to the Star Wars Galaxy! This is a game just as welcoming to newcomers as it is to veterans and GMs alike. The story takes place during the height of the Galactic Empire, when the tales of Jedi Knights have been largely wiped from the collective mind of the galaxy. Many regard the stories as mythology: highly embellished by insurgents against the Empire and loyalists still clinging to a dead Republic. This campaign will take players across the Star Wars galaxy and beyond, into the depths of unknown space on a quest to foster developing force attunement and evade capture by the evil Empire. The game will use the ruleset from the FFG and Edge Studios-published Star Wars Roleplaying Game, featuring their iconic narrative dice. As a game master, I prefer to focus on fostering a fun atmosphere more than anything. The core of my GM philosophy is to prepare fun and exciting set pieces, give PCs the opportunity to engage with them, and encourage authentically flavored roleplaying and character interaction! Expect a story-focused campaign with exciting and player-highlighting combat encounters, all to the masterful musical scores of the Star Wars saga. Even if you've never rolled FFG's narrative dice and want to try the system, you are more than welcome to join as a newcomer! My biggest goal is to provide an exciting and memorable experience that targets the inner 10-year-old within all of us, sitting in a movie theatre experiencing that crawl text and John Williams for the first time. (This campaign is a friendly and open space to all kinds of people. Only cordial, respectful players will be tolerated! Let's all have a fun time together!)

About me

【Safe Table for All!】《🏳️‍🌈🏴‍☠️🌍》 【Beginner Friendly】《🆕🐤🔰》 Hi! I'm Keilan (Key-lin), and I love storytelling! I'm originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, but I currently live in Tokyo, Japan. I speak English and Japanese, and a little bit of Mandarin. I'm a writer, animator, artist, conlanger, worldbuilder, and GM (as you can probably tell)! I started running tabletop RPGs shortly after trying them for the first time, and I’ve been hooked ever since. There are few experiences more satisfying than running a game and watching the chemistry between characters come alive. I got my first taste of D&D in 2018, and I've been chasing that high ever since. I’m a massive nerd (aren’t we all here?). Notable loves of mine include Star Wars, The Dark Crystal, The Lord of the Rings, The Legend of Zelda, the works of Studio Ghibli, and space horror like Alien and Dead Space. These interests deeply influence the kinds of role-playing games I run and play. I'm also in the process of designing my own self-published TTRPGs and adventures. When I'm not playing TRPGs, you can find me writing novels, animating silly videos for YouTube, playing retro games, or drawing! Looking forward to sharing lots of memorable moments with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

Experienced players are welcome to create their characters beforehand. A 1-2 hour pre-session will be held before the game begins to help new or inexperienced players build their characters. NOTE: We do not use group XP. Only players who participate in a session gain XP, but new players get a boost on their first character :)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A good microphone is preferable as we will be playing over Discord voice chat. Please bring: A printed or digital version of a character sheet. There are many fan-variations of the sheet on the internet. Experienced players are welcome to pick a format of their liking to use and prepare with. For newer players, I can provide a digital or print-friendly version for you to use. Dice can be brought physically to your table, or alternatively rolled through a free dice app (honor system here, folks! ;)) We will also have access to a Dice bot on Discord that you can roll through as well.

Safety

How Keilan creates a safe table

Even with narrative dice, I prefer to keep things moving at a fast pace. Choices will have certain advantages and threats that accompany success and failure, so it's always fun to decide together what those could look like. Learners or newbies are more than welcome!
