About the adventure
Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning splits the clouds overhead, casting stark white light across him. Strahd turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of power—and of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come—all according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle's towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited. In this Level 1 through 10+ adventure, you travel through the dreaded domain of Barovia and face off against its vampire ruler who has cursed the lands with an eternal, foggy night, in this revamped and reloaded version of the gothic horror adventure we all know in love in the Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition.

About me
Come one, come all to Mick Micheal's Table Top Theatre. Been playing TTRPGs since about a decade ago, and have gone into Gming (usually for Level UP: Advanced 5th Edition). I started with regular dnd 5th edition, but has been expanding my horizons recently. I tend to stick to using Foundry when gming.

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Sets the Mood
Rule of Cool
Creativity
Mick is a really good guy. I've been playing with him for almost a year in an outside game using A5E. He knows the rules, and sticks to them, but is also down to let you try wacky stuff (sometimes the wackier, the better), and will hear you out if you have a legit issue. You might not get your way, but he will listen. I've found his "rulings" very fair and reasonable for myself and other players. Mick is also great at working with players to build interesting backstories and character arcs as the campaign goes. I joined a long running campaign, and we worked out some really fun and interesting backstories for THREE characters (we made some back-ups just in case ;) that fit well in the campaign setting and that help flesh out the party while also keeping me interested as a player. As his tag lists, he does sometimes have trouble with speaking clearly (too fast, I think), but just give him a moment or ask for him to repeat something if you didn't understand him. He knows and has never taken offense to be asked to repeat something. Overall, I've had a great experience as a player with Mick. And to be clear, as a GM myself, I can probably be a pain in the @$$ so I very much appreciate his patience with me. Would definitely recommend!!
Character creation
Creating your character
We will start at the 1st or 2nd level (currently undecided) and will be made during session 0 (which will be free). The stats will be generated using a Standard Array, though this is not definite as of writing, and I might change my mind on it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You should have at least a decent-quality Microphone, A discord account, a solid internet connection, and a solid grasp on the English language (as that is the only language I know). Also being able to consistently arrive on time for the session (oddball situations like being sick or something notwithstanding).
What Mick brings to the table
I will bring you thy Foundry VTT and discord. I also use Kenku FM for background music.
Homebrew rules
Fatique is applies imediatly as you are reduced to 0 hit points, and when knocked to to 0 hit points you also gain a level of strife.

Safety
How Mick creates a safe table
In session 0 we will be introducing ourselves to each other (and maybe make our characters) and talking about our expectations and boundaries and so forth, which will be free. Foundry X-Card module will be used as well, which uses the X card Player safety toolkit by John Stavropoulos. I’ll also note I am willing to start earlier for our start time if we all agree to it (like say 4:30 pm est or something).
