About the adventure

Adventure as a kid in the 80s that never was! Adults are distant, school is boring, and oh yeah, there are robots and hoverships about. Although you share your hometown with the mysterious particle accelerator facility known as the Loop, you are much more excited because it is almost Christmas break. Unfortunately, you are about to encounter far stranger mysteries than Santa Claus. Tales from the Loop uses Free League's Mutant: Yero Zero engine, easy to learn but great fun to play. Payers play Kids who balance their ordinary lives with strange mysteries caused by the presence of the Loop. This group of pre-generated mysteries, Out of Time, is suitable for beginners as well as experienced players. Tales from the Loop is a good game for those who liked Stranger Things. The game will run on the Alchemy Virtual Tabletop Tool, which is a highly useful service for running Free League games and enables easy access to everything needed to run Tales From the Loop mysteries.

About me

Hello, I'm Caestus. I've been playing roleplaying games ever since I was old enough to do so. I've played or run 100 different rpgs. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy. I've been running games for friends and family for years. While I feel that telling a good story is a key part of being a good gamemaster, more important than the story is making sure all the players at the table have a good time; I consider that the chief duty of any gamemaster. I run a wide variety of games here and I hope you enjoy playing RPGs with me.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players may select from a wide variety of pre-generated characters. They may also create their own character beforehand if desired, but do not need to do so. Character creation is fairly simple.

The current party

We have a Computer Geek, a Jock, a Troublemaker and a Wierdo. We've wrapped up Out of Time and are moving on to Our Friends the Machines

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a microphone (Video is not needed) and should create a free account on Alchemy. I will teach how to play the game and players may select a pre-generated character if they desire, so there is not much preparation required.

What Caestus brings to the table

I'll bring the Alchemy system, which allows for images, tactical maps and even music and sound effects, plus my own experience as a GM for years. I will also bring the Tales from the Loop Core Rules and the Out of Time adventures, so players do not need their own set of the rules. I focus on making sure all the players enjoy themselves, but there will be a mix of roleplay, mysteries and skill challenges.

Homebrew rules

No homebrew rules are used.

Safety

How Caestus creates a safe table

Alchemy builds in the ability to create Lines and Veils as well as use X cards. We will create any needed Lines and Veils at the beginning of the session. Although children in Tales from the Loop can be in danger, they cannot die.
