About the adventure
Curse of Strahd is a brutal gothic horror campaign that's sure to challenge both new and experienced players! We'll also be including a whole lot of new exciting homebrew content from several sources such as Legends of Barovia, Curse of Strahd Reloaded and many more, ensuring that even those experienced with the original source material will have a good time! Curse of Strahd is an exciting, tense, fast-paced adventure. It is a vivid exploration of classic gothic horror tropes and monsters, from werewolves to vampires, ghosts, and more. It is a true sandbox, providing players with the freedom to make their own choices and build the kind of adventure they enjoy. It is an unabashedly character-driven campaign, giving your player character an incredible chance to shine and make their mark on the story your group tells.

Joy have been a great DM through the different campaigns I’ve played with him so far. Each has used a different system and Joy has always been welcoming and patient to new players. The NPCs have been played well, feel unique and there is a nice blend between comedic and serious moments. It is always a gamble playing with strangers online, even more so when it comes to paid games but I’ve never had an issue in one of Joy’s games.

Joy is a wonderful individual who really brings some passion to the campaign. With a nicely setup VTT and add-ons to really make the experience fun and immersive, it's been one of the best online experiences I've had. Joy also been amazing in terms of the role play and story, allowing our group time to RP while also building a world for us to explore. We're also allowed quite a bit a freedom in how we approach challenges, even if they're terrible, which is always a welcome addition to player agency. All in all, Joy is a fantastic DM and person and I do not think you can go wrong by choosing to join up with them.

Character creation
Creating your character
During session 0 we will all try to make characters that fit into the adventure the best as well as fit in with one another. Characters will start at level 1 and progress all the way up to level 12 (or beyond)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Everyone should at least have basic knowledge of the D&D 5e system as well as know some basic ideas they have for their character, during session 0 these will be discussed and we'll try to make sure everyone plays a character they enjoy. For my sessions, you will need Discord, A Microphone, A browser, and stable wifi. It's also optional to play with a webcam, but it's not required.

I'll be hosting the game in my local FoundryVTT server with all necessary tokens, SFX, music, and others.

How Joy creates a safe table
I try to make my games a safe place for everyone. To achieve this we'll, of course, try to make sure everyone is having a good time. We'll always have a session 0 to discuss anything that may trigger any players. We'll use the X, N and O cards when necessary as well.
