About the adventure
You died. Maybe it was a heroic last stand, a cruel twist of fate, or something darker—either way, your soul did not rest. Now trapped in the layers of the afterlife, your only path forward is backward: clawing your way through realms of shadow, fire, memory, and judgment to reach the world of the living once more. But nothing in the afterlife is without cost. This campaign begins where most stories end: at the threshold of death. Players will explore terrifying and beautiful after-realms—from the bleak silence of the Shadowfell to the infernal politics of the Nine Hells, the ruins of forgotten heavens, and strange liminal places that defy mortal understanding. Along the way, you'll confront what death means to you, uncover the secrets of your own demise, and shape your return—if you still want it when the time comes. This is a narrative-driven, high-stakes campaign focused on exploration, consequence, and surreal storytelling. Expect morally complex choices, haunting imagery, and dangerous encounters that challenge both your party’s tactics and convictions. Resurrection is possible—but not guaranteed. Death was only the beginning.
Game style
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Gameplay details
Safety tools will be provided at Session 0 including, but not limited to, a Lines and Veils document, as well as a survey that will go over Personal Information and player basics so I can better understand the best way to communicate with you as a player in and out of the game. In the Lines and Veils document, which will be sent to each player privately, you can mark what you are and are not comfortable with seeing in the game. These documents will only be seen by me, the DM. This way we can make sure that everyone at the table can have a fun and safe experience. Our session 0 will be a place to discuss how the group would like to play this game, whether it be more focused on the RP side of things, more combat heavy, or a equal mix of both. Here at session 0, we can also discuss creations of each of the characters and character sheets, as well as helping new players better understand the game itself! After each session there will be time put aside to debrief and discuss the session, here you can give me feedback, comments, or concerns, and this may be discussed at the table with the group or privately!
