About the adventure
The Hero put the cat coffee in the samovar and rubbed the sleep sand out of their eyes. On the other side of the hotrock the Dwarf rubbed magi-technical ointment into the joints of his golem armor. That meant it was half an hour to sunrise. Same thing, every day like clockwork. Perhaps he was clockwork. Everyone said those Salters weren’t human anymore. The Demon-Talker sat down beside the Hero, noiseless as always yet somehow comforting. The Hero passed her a cup. “Ah,” she gurgled, “you make the best brew. It almost warms my bones.” “We’ll all be warm soon,” rumbled Eater-of-the-Dead from its sleeping sack, “we’re nearly at the Violet City.” A world begins when it emerges from the mists of time. So it is with the civilizations of the Rainbowlands—which mark their count from when the Long Ago ended and the Now began. The Rainbowlanders are the humans of a later era, undisputed masters of the fertile lands around the Circle Sea, dwellers in the Eye of Creation. They come in many shapes, colors, creeds, and faiths. They pile unkempt technology and misremembered lore together into a teetering whole. They rule the settled lands under their polychrome deities of ill-repute. This story is not theirs. This story begins at the edge of their world, at the Left End of the Right Road. At the westernmost outpost of humanity, the Violet City: bastion against the hordes, entrepôt to the exotic sunset lands, and last port of civilization before the trackless steppe studded with the detritus of the Long Ago. The last glimmer of the Rainbow before the skin-blistering glow of the Ultraviolet Grasslands. This, Ultraviolet Grasslands and the Black City, is a fantascience roleplaying adventure setting designed to take the PCs on a long strange trip across a mythic steppe filled with remnants of space and time and distorted riffs. It is inspired by psychedelic heavy metal, the Dying Earth genre, and Oregon Trail games.

About me
Hi there! I am a Games Master with nearly a decade's worth of experience and have run a number of games in D&D, SWFFG, Starfinder, Lancer, Basic Fantasy, Pokemon Tabletop United, Pathfinder 2e, Blades in the Dark, Forbidden Lands, City of Mist... quite a few. This hobby has somewhat taken over my life: be it my fortnightly game that has been running for 8 years, various one-shots and mini-campaigns, play-by-post experiments, artwork, books... I'm rather enthusiastic. I use Foundry VTT's many bells and whistles to bring life to all of these fantastic games.

Creating your character
We will be creating characters/rolling for them together over Discord and I will be porting them over to Foundry VTT to make things as streamlined and easy to follow as possible.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Just join the Discord! I'll go through how to set up your character and our game expectations, and we'll go from there. https://discord.gg/FEkRQTVBQk
What Reece - Panda Beard brings to the table
I have maps, tokens, art, animated features on the VTT, a vibrant Discord server, pdfs for the rules, and a fully-loaded Foundry VTT set-up built to support the setting and game system. I will be available as frequently as I can for questions, I am inclusive and allow for creative solutions, and I have a fairly extensive knowledge of the system. It is very fun!

How Reece - Panda Beard creates a safe table
I like to follow the rules but allow for creative solutions and some appropriate bending. Combat should aim to be snappy, and I make sure that everyone knows when their turn is approaching so that they have plenty of time to think and react. Table Etiquette: - This is a game: having fun is always the first goal. This expands to all players - GM included. - Respect the team: racism, homophobia, xenophobia, sexism, or any other toxic and disgraceful behaviour will not be tolerated. We are all human beings, so let's celebrate that. - Communication is key: conflict happens, and often enhances the game as a whole. Make sure that you check in with everyone so that we can be clear about where that conflict stops. - Be reasonable and clear with your expectations: every character has a story, and campaigns can take a while. I'll do my best to make sure that everyone feels that they have had valuable "screen-time", but I would also ask that you remain patient and respectful of the fact that the spotlight may shine on others for a time, too. That being said, I - as a mistake-prone and fallible human - will always take the time to listen and discuss any grievances. This refers back to the previous point. - Do not be a ghost: this does not mean "don't be quiet". Some people aren't as keen on role-play, and that is fine. What I am referring to, is people exiting with no word or explanation. If our game is not your cup of tea, that is absolutely fine, and I hope that you find a better fit soon. If that is the case, please let us know. I always appreciate feedback, and that way we can fill the spot, and the game doesn't grind to a halt whilst we find explanations as to why your character isn't there. For safety and comfort, there will be a document, as well as lines & veils being addressed before the adventure begins. An X can be sent to the chat or to me directly and we'll know to skip, fade, or retcon to allow for maximum comfort for all players.
