About the adventure
Deep in the southern tangle of Fanghaven Forest there is a notoriously deadly swamp. Amid the vines and mangroves there hides a sacred plant which can only be found amid those fetid waters: the painted lily. Bards sing of the rare beauty hiding in the damp and dark, and of the secrets only these delicate blossoms can tell: Where, in those murky pools, treasure might be found! What starts as a journey into the green swiftly becomes something more than a gold hunt, and the fate of the kingdom may be suspended in precarious balance... This is an exploration and roleplay heavy game packed with adventure and intrigue! Intended for players who love a mystery, there will be plenty of opportunity for lore-diving if the party seeks it out.
Meet the Game Master
About me
TLDR: I’m a seasoned DM with extensive experience creating fun and safe games for players of all ages and play styles. After DMing countless hours of Adventurer's League and running monthly introductory one-shots for new players (many of them kiddos age 10 and younger) at my local game store, the pandemic brought my games online! My time spent DMing online for the Women+ Virtual convention, writing and running multiple events both in person and online, and a multitude of focused games over Roll20, Discord, and Zoom has taught me a lot — most notably, a deep understanding of how to engage a variety of players while keeping things on track. I love running games for new players! Ever wanted to try D&D but don’t know where to start? Well, you’ve come to the right person! I’d love to show you (and your friends) that fun is something you bring to the table with you. You show up and I'll show you how to unlock it! My table is a safe space, and I have spent ten years putting in the work to make sure it stays that way for every game I run. Safety tools are available and I can walk through how to use them for any group. My goal is to give my players full empowerment to ensure the stories we shape together are ones we love to tell over and over again. Let’s roll some dice!

Creating your character
Players should prepare 5th level characters for this adventure using the 2024 ruleset. If you have a character in your heart that uses 2014 character options I am open to being flexible, and we can discuss it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to have a working microphone and should expect to arrive in the discord up to 15 minutes before game start. I am trusting the players to use their own dice for this campaign.
What Amanda Leftridge brings to the table
I'm providing the virtual play space with safety tools, and will occasionally post visual aids in the chat for the players to enjoy an immersive experience while they roleplay.

How Amanda Leftridge creates a safe table
The session will begin with a discussion about table manners, boundaries, and expectations. I will talk you through using the X Card in discord at the beginning of the first session. I can and will avoid graphic descriptions of disturbing content according to the preferences of the players at the table, but this is intended to be light and fun with limited horror elements. Think: Indiana Jones hacking through the jungle. The thematic elements of this adventure will require the players to travel to unfamiliar territory and uncover dangerous secrets with limited resources, and as such will be expected to come to the table with a team-focused mindset. Content warning: Passing mention of drowning and insects/poisons/diseases related to deep wilderness expedition through a jungle environment. Players should expect to experience difficulties related to these subjects, however, they are not the main focus of the adventure and can be phased out entirely at the discretion of the group. There will also be a certain amount of classism related to nobility and the chasm between the different social classes within a kingdom. This is where much of the central tension for this storyline comes from.
