The Beast of Old Felling (lvl 7 oneshot)
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
Strange noises in the night, hunters leaving their homes and never coming back, and abnormal bones washing up in the village river. Something is amiss in the town, and a bounty of 400gp has been promised to whoever can slay whatever creature plagues the village. A list of villagers that claim to have information has been provided, but those who trust their gut more than information may proceed directly into the dark woods to the north. Will you heed the call? Hunt down whatever creature causes nightmares in the woods of Old Felling. This is a homebrew oneshot including roleplay, exploration and (presumably) a final battle.

Lucas brings a balance of all the different things I want in a DM and, importantly, knows how to pace a session so that a story starts, unfolds and resolves. He makes space for character creativity and shenanigans and yet knows when it's time to move the party on from the NPC we've fixated on. I'm looking forward to more!
Lucas is an outstanding Dungeon Master! His storytelling abilities kept us hooked from the very first session to the grand finale of our adventure. Here’s why Lucas should be your next DM: Engaging Storyline: Lucas crafted a narrative that was rich, immersive, and full of surprising twists. The session felt like a chapter in an epic tale, making the experience unforgettable. Perfect Pacing: The balance between action, exploration, and role-playing was spot on. Lucas ensured there was never a dull moment, keeping the game dynamic and exciting. Character Integration: He skillfully wove our characters’ backstories into the main plot, making the adventure feel personal and allowing for deep character development. Vivid World-Building: The world Lucas created was detailed and vivid. His descriptions made it easy to visualize and immerse ourselves in the setting. The lore and history added depth, making the world feel authentic. Adaptability: Lucas was incredibly adaptable, seamlessly incorporating our choices and unexpected actions into the story. This flexibility made the game feel like a true collaborative effort. Memorable NPCs: The non-player characters were well-crafted and memorable, each with distinct personalities. The engaging dialogues added a lot to the role-playing experience. Exciting Combat: The combat encounters were well-designed. Lucas managed to create tension without making it overwhelming. Atmospheric Descriptions: His ability to set the mood with vivid descriptions and an engaging tone enhanced the overall experience, making each scene come to life. In summary, Lucas's exceptional storytelling, attention to detail, and ability to keep us thoroughly entertained made this session fantastic. If you’re looking for a DM who will provide a captivating and memorable adventure, look no further than Lucas. Highly recommended!
Additional details
How to prepare
Mic obviously needed, webcam if you feel comfortable. Let me know if you are not super familiar with the rules ahead of time. All you need is a character sheet - I like to see them before the game, but if you do all in Pen&Paper format, that is also fine. Dice can be rolled through roll20, d&d-beyond or physically.
What I provide
I bring the atmosphere, story and preparation needed for a good adventure. I will also provide maps for tactical combat. However, I do not have full d&d-beyond access to let your create your characters there.
Gameplay details
I am comfortable with the rules and can help with that, but if the cinematics/story demand it, rules might be bend! After initial exploration, there will be a tough boss fight ahead, so be prepared!

How will character creation work
Bring a Level 7 character of your choice. You can use 2014 or 2024 rules, but no backgrounds that give spells/feats aside from the 2024 origins. I can unfortunately not share a d&dbeyond campaign. Stats: you may roll (4d6 drop lowest) or use Standard Array/Point Buy (You can use a dicebot in my discord server to roll stats/HP if you wish.) All official sources allowed, but please ask me about Homebrew/Unearthed Arcana. Also, grab one rare and one uncommon item and pick a free feat at lvl 1.
