Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

🩸Visit Barovia and join the Count for dinner! 🧛‍♂️Experience amazing roleplay from NPCs built up from the original module! ⚰️Death (and undeath...) around each corner! Fight back, or use your wits and cunning to escape 🪦Join this game to experience heavy PC involvement in the world of Barovia, incorporating your backstory and building relationships with other NPCs, friend or foe! Join me in this adventure after nearly five years of dming! Curse of Strahd is a gothic horror campaign where players are free to explore the sandbox-style land of Barovia! Entering the mists and becoming trapped in this strange, dark land, your party must find a way to escape the Dread Lord Strahd Von Zarovich and his many minions. Your party will go from level 1 all the way to level 10! This game is 18+, and has a lot of content that players may find upsetting or triggering. A lot of the content has been changed for my own comfort alone, and I will discuss this with the table in session 0. We will also discuss triggers with the Monte Cook RPG checklist and with lines and veils!

Game style

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Additional details

How to prepare

You need a discord account with a mic (camera is not required, though it's always nice to see who you're speaking with!) You need a roll20 account and dndbeyond account, a character sheet and your own set of dice! (though you're free to use the Dndbeyond dice! I trust my players not to fudge rolls!)

What I provide

I bring my own dice, I bring maps on Roll20 and module art! I also bring a Dndbeyond subscription with the ability to share content among my players!

Gameplay details

I use the Monte Cooke rpg consent checklist and send that to all my players, and as well as that I employ many other techniques at my tables to make the game safe and fun for everyone involved! I have an open door policy; anyone can get up and walk away fom the table at any moment if one needs to take a break. There is no judgement, and I will be there to message after they return to discuss any issues. I also use X card, N, O cards in Roll20 to easily allow players to flag if there is content that is upsetting them, and the severity of it; such as needing to stop the game to take a break/end session vs moving on from the content swiftly and checking in at the end of session.

How will character creation work

Players should have an idea of what character they would like to play before session 0, where we can discuss your ideas, bring them to life together and size up how to composition of the party is looking, though I always prioritize players playing something they want to and have fun rather than having to conform to a certain structure! Character sheets will be created and accessed on Dndbeyond where I share content from multiple source books and modules! Homebrew content isn't out of the question, though I would prefer canon races and classes, but if you would love to play a homebrew race or class, we can sort that out and talk it through!
