D&D 5e : Godkiller (Level 15-20+) | Isle of Games | Tucson, AZ

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

(This module is intended for high-level character builds! The stronger, the better!!) The gods have decided to erase everything--ALL existence across time / space--and start over! You are one of the FEW individuals in the known universe with the power to resist, and (perhaps) save what you hold most dear. To resist the gods' destruction is to be an instrument of heresy; to root out their weaknesses and strike them down, that YOU may ascend instead. This will be the hardest (and perhaps the last) quest of your life. How will you take the fight to the gods? And what will your growing godlike abilities transform you into?? Rise to ascension and find out in DnD 5e : Godkiller ! YOU SHOULD EXPECT: 📚 An epic campaign, spanning several months of play! ⚔️GOD-Tier battles - Punch Mystra in the face!! 👊 🤯Mind-blowing boss arenas! 🗡️ Legendary magic items as loot! 💪Usurp the literal power of the gods, then USE it!! (If you survive long enough!) (Not yet signed up for StartPlaying? Use this referral code for 10$ off your first session with me!) https://startplaying.games/referral/clbnvxd8n0039ld08h2o57z9l

Game style

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Dungeon Crawl

A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

Party notes

This module is for die hard fans of D&D, that want to push the combat system to its absolute limits. There will be epic boss fights, and godlike challenges that will force you to use the full extent of your 5e toolkit. There will also be a fair amount of roleplay, so come prepared to make meaningful decisions. If that sounds like your jam, then I'll see you at Isle of Games on Friday!

Malcolm the Brewmaster is a tremendous DM and is always so prepared with every session. He includes background noise and interesting homebrew mechanics into his games that feel refreshing and fun. I cannot recommend any game he runs highly enough.

A true delight to play any TTPRG. My group has been playing with the Brewmaster for over a year at this point. He has been very accommodating and understanding of any and all issues that appear at anytime. Each adventure we have been on has been well thought out, an interesting and immersive story, and a truly thrilling ride as each session has played out. I even have friends at work that are following along during our stories as I tell them the tales of our adventures! Such a great time. 10/10 would recommend!

We have been having a great time with Malcolm playing our FalloutRPG game. All of us are new to the game system, Malcolm has been great at helping us learn the system while maintaining a super fun and exciting atmosphere. Malcolm is always prompt to the sessions, ready to go, professional... He tells a great story, bringing life to NPCs and I am always looking forward to the next week's session.

I recently had the pleasure of participating in a Cyberpunk RED game titled "403 - Forbidden," hosted by Malcolm, and it was an outstanding experience! This was my first time playing cyberpunk, and Malcolm made the learning curve a breeze. Malcolm's knowledge of the game tools and his ability to explain how to use them effectively was impressive. He has a deep understanding of the rules and knows exactly how to apply them, making the gameplay smooth and enjoyable. Additionally, his use of music and visual aids really enhanced the atmosphere and immersion of the game. As a storyteller, Malcolm is exceptional. He weaves engaging narratives and knows how to captivate players, keeping everyone involved and on the edge of their seats. I had a fantastic time and can't recommend him highly enough. Great game!

Malcom has been so helpful to our group of brand new DnD players! He's helping us learn the game while letting us explore and have fun. He has built a comprehensive world and is flexible when letting us explore and do crazy things. The characters are well-developed and interesting and he always keeps you on your toes when engaging with the NPCs. We've had many nights full of adventure, laughs, and fun thanks to Malcom!

How to prepare

You must make a Startplaying.games account (Not yet signed up for StartPlaying? Use this referral code for 10$ off your first session with me!) https://startplaying.games/referral/clbnvxd8n0039ld08h2o57z9l, For online games, you also require free Roll20 and Discord accounts. Bring your Level 15 character, and their chosen magic items. DnD Shorts and the Dungeon Dudes (on YouTube) have released tons of videos on various powerful builds, overpowered spells, crazy multi-classing, and encounter-breaking combinations. It might be helpful! Be prepared to briefly introduce your character to the party during session 0. If anyone had any confusion with character building, we'll go over those issues then. Session 0 will roll right into session 1. We start rolling dice as SOON as everyone's character is squared away.

What I provide

I provide an immersive soundscape, handouts, character tokens, and maps in the Roll20 VTT.

Gameplay details

High level DnD is notoriously broken; and many DMs complain that high level characters feel too powerful to challenge. THIS module, however, leans INTO that fact, and simply gives you a challenge worthy of your character; the gods themselves. This module is inspired by "Asura's Wrath", and is intended to push the power creep of 5e to the limits, and tell a story as epic as 5e could possibly allow. I permit any / ALL builds. NOTHING is banned, and ALL exploits to the system are fair game. Your enemies will NOT fight fair, so neither should you. Expect a fast paced game. The gods have a plan to enact, and they're enacting it, judiciously. The gods do NOT like being defied, so you'll need to fight a LOT, or else find clever ways to undermine the gods without fisticuffs. Either way, expect a LOT of freedom and choice. You'll be attaining godly powers, and as they grow, you'll find that the possibilities become endless. (Expect the rule of cool to be invoked often!) This Module is rated M / PEGI 16: Blood, Gore, Intense Violence, Cruelty, Mild Nudity, Mild Sexual Themes, and Deicide

How will character creation work

We're starting at level 15. Build your character Rules As Written, and come up with a (BRIEF!) backstory, telling how you got so powerful (perhaps how you attained your magic items), and what sort of reputation you have in the world (nice guy or feared tyrant?). You also start off with magic items! We'll be using a point buy system. During character creation, you have 5 points. You can spend points to buy magic items: Legendary - 5 points Very Rare - 4 points Rare - 3 points Uncommon - 2 points Common - 1 point NOTE: You must build your character using EITHER the 2014 OR 2024 rules, but not BOTH (you cannot mix classes, subclasses, magic items, or spells between editions). Whichever edition you build in, you must use only that edition. Other than that rule, anything else goes. No spells, races, classes, or multi-classes are banned, as long as they're officially published D&D material.
