About the adventure
SPOILS OF WAR FUEL FINANCIAL BOOM Salvation prospers by the day! Each treasure plundered from the cursed earth of Cyre makes our outpost stand taller. Our proud brokers reap a fortune in the markets of Wroat, Sharn, and Starilaskur, selling your hard-earned salvage to the highest bidders. The work may be tough - by the last count 70% of savengers who entered the Mournland didn't return - but fortune awaits those bold souls who make it home alive. If you're plucking up the courage to make your own expedition into the Gray, heed the words of svanger Ned Keldrik, who told this correspondant, "There's no better time to enter the Gray. You can sit there drinkin' up all the courage you can afford, but all that ain't worth grease when you're starin' a clockwork monstrosity in the grill. Out there, it's instinct that gets you home alive - that, and a helthy dose o' luck." Shortly after making this statement, Ned's decapitated head was found in the Mournland, oddly turned to stone. The rest of his body remains missing. Welcome to Salvation! Where hope, riches, and fame, ride a razors edge with death, pain, and dismemberment. In these dusty streets, groups and bands from all over the continent gear up and prepare to head into the Gray. The thing that keeps everyone coming back despite how badly this land tries to kill you, is the hope. Every now and then a group of people will go out on an expedition and come out with enough funds for a complete and early retirement... And out of those people, an even smaller selection find artifacts of advanced technology that could shake the very foundation of the continent, literally and figuratively. As technology that should stay buried gets unearthed, who are you going to play in this story? Are you a ranger, trying to survive or maybe even thrive in the Mournland's rough climate? Maybe a wizard seeking to solve the greatest mysteries of Khorvaire? Or perhaps a holy warrior with an oath of destroy or protect any tech that could cause the war to restart or innocents to die? Let's get started and find out!

About me
Hey y'all! My name’s Nick, I’m 29 years old, and I've been running games professionally for about 7 years now. On the side I write and am in the process of publishing all the different stories and campaigns I've added to my games throughout the years. I charge 15$/session for a few reasons, I've found it leads to people being invested in the campaign, It allows me to afford the pro subscription to roll20, new campaigns, and the many different source books that have been published by so many different companies and amazing writers. It also allows me to follow my dream of getting all of my stories published! AND as a way for you to feel out the game and see if you like the style with which I run things I am offering the character creation session for free! Hope to see you guys there!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during a free session zero that we have before the start of our first session. During the session zero we'll roll for stats, and if you don't like your stats you can then go standard array or point buy. You will also be allowed to roll for health, or take average, and if you choose to roll and roll a one you can reroll. As far as what sourcebooks and things you can use, anything that's official material, or from kobold press, is definitely on the table. As far as any other third party sources or homebrew, it's almost definitely fine! I'd just have to take a look at it to make sure it's not too OP.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need to join is a computer with reliable internet, a mic, headphones, and accounts on both roll20 & discord. Other than that there's no preparation needed!
What Nick Tyreman brings to the table
Hello all! This campaign will have a lot of my own touch to it. One of the reasons I love the old 5th edition campaigns so much is that they give me as the DM, plenty of room to write what goes in between them I also offer access to the vast majority of sourcebooks and additions to the campaign that have been published by the Wizards of the Coast, as well as so many different amazing third party sources. When I describe my DM style, I always put it in terms of the three pillars of dnd which are exploration, combat, and social interaction. I always try to have a good mix of all three, and in this campaign that'll definitely be the case. The reason I wanted to run this is because first off, the world of Eberron is awesome and it's criminal that there hasn't been any official campaigns set in it; and second this campaign specifically has a uniquely wild west feel which mixes with the wasteland of the Gray really well.
Homebrew rules
I do use a couple of different homebrew rules, but obviously if we're starting a new campaign we will be able to talk about them as a group and keep or get rid of whichever ones we want to get rid of. With that being said, biggest homebrew rules is probably my custom critical injury mechanic. It doesn't come into play too much, only when people go down, or take massive hits (more than 50% of your max hp in one hit). And once you get an injury, you or someone else can fix it with a healer's kit and a medicine check. If majority agrees with it, then in return for implementing that, I also gave everyone a free feat to start, just to balance everything out. Other than that it's just the simple ones, flanking gives you advantage on the hit, drinking potions are bonus actions, firearms are on the table, and there are most likely more... None of them really change the rules of the game, just fill in the blanks that the base rules don't really cover.

How Nick Tyreman creates a safe table
So for this I'm pretty laid back. Everyone will get a free session zero where we can talk about character creation, backstory, and what topics you can expect to see, and if there's any topics that you want me to avoid. I'm more than happy to accommodate within reason, and will stay away from things you'd rather not deal with.
