Academy X: New Mutants (LGBTQ+ Game, Superhero, Slice-of-Life)
Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game | Campaign
About the adventure
This is a Marvel Multiverse RPG Game based on the Xavier Institute and Young X-Men in training. Original characters are preferred. This will be an alternate earth, so events and teams will be of our own making. That's not to say our favorite heroes won't be present, but this isn't their story; it's ours. This game will not only be about mutants learning to control their extraordinary abilities but also the slice-of-life drama of being a student at a university for young super-powered individuals. Our game will be taking the mutant agenda back a few decades. In our world, Mutants are persecuted for being different. Treated as freaks at best, public threats at worst. Sentinels are prevalent, and the government is speaking of registration again. This story, however, is not set in the past but in the present day. The oppressed Homosuperior are once again facing enemies from within as well as without. The characters will all be at least 18 years of age. I really want to see these characters grow. I would love to have a lot of longevity with this game, I enjoy building onto our unique lore for as long as possible. I love telling stories with other people's characters. There will also be the option for downtime text-based RP sessions between official games.
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
I would love for this table to be the second squad in a shared universe with my other table, perhaps with the possibility for crossover events. That game filled really quickly and I would love to see this one do the same. So bring your own "Superhero to be " and enroll at Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters.

Sets the Mood
Only 2 sessions in so far but deeply enjoying the game so I feel pretty comfortable giving a 5 star review. Andy goes out of his way to insure you get to enjoy the character concept you pass his way by incorporating backstory elements into the setting. Exceptionally dedicated and passionate to his games, looking forward to seeing this campaign through and hopefully more in the future.
Andy is fantastic at giving players room to breathe and encouraging dynamics to grow! He'll always ensure that your character is considered and the visual aids he brings to every session are so detailed, it's clear that he puts in a lot of time to make sure his groups feel truly immersed.
Andy is an awesome GM who puts an impressive amount of time an effort into building an engaging narrative for his players. He is also supportive of and sensitive to any direction or scene player may seek out for their character and fosters a truly collaborative and trusting environment where a player can feel safe to explore emotional or new ground with their character. I'm so glad to have found this game.
If you're asking for a GM who gives attention to session pacing, goes beyond to build world building props as well as gives players time to be heard in character and off screen then Andy's the go to GM. It resonated with me early on that concerns are heard and player's feedback are important to him. Joining in a session is always a thrill.

How to prepare
nothing needed I own all the core books and the compendium through roll20
What I provide
I have tons of resources and maps. Music. Artwork, Tokens, Animated assets. I will also make an intro trailer for the game. See my other active multiplayer listings for examples. These will be custom to my players and can be time-consuming to make, so please be serious when joining. I put a TON of work into my games and really want them to feel like a movie. A game where you can just sit down and get lost in our world for a few hours. I prefer a ton of communication before the game starts so I can understand each of your characters and provide the best custom experience possible. I purchased the Marvel Multiverse RPG bundle on roll20 it has a character creator and compendium. I can also assist in making characters. These characters will be rank 1 and very low level for starters.
