About the adventure

This game is perfect for players who enjoy rich storytelling, complex character development, and epic battles. If you love exploring deep backstories, facing challenging encounters, and navigating a world filled with ancient gods and mythical creatures, then Odyssey of the Dragonlords will be an unforgettable adventure. Ideal for those who seek a mix of tactical combat, character-driven narratives, and a world steeped in legend! 🏰 The World 🏰 Thylea is a land of ancient gods, forgotten legends, and the remnants of powerful dragonlords. Ruled by Titans and Gods and plagued by the shadows of old, it’s a world where heroes rise to challenge fate itself. The seas are wild, the forests ancient, and the skies teem with the forgotten creatures of myth. Will you become a legendary hero, or will Thylea’s secrets consume you? 🧙🏼 The DM 🧙🏼 My focus is on bringing together a group of players who complement each other well for a successful, long-term campaign. To ensure this, I’ll have a quick chat with each player over Discord to understand your expectations and make sure we’re a good fit. This has worked great for me in the past, helping create strong, cohesive groups that have a fantastic time playing together. 🎲 The Game Details 🎲 Please consider the game schedule and ensure it fits your foreseeable commitments before joining, as I’m aiming to create a long-term, dedicated group of players who will complete the campaign together. We’ll be playing on Foundry VTT (if you're new to it, don’t worry—it's easy to learn and a lot of fun!) with audio and video over Discord. While a webcam is optional, it’s highly encouraged to help with player bonding! I’ll have my camera on during sessions to foster a more immersive experience.

Game style

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Party notes

Party is currently level 4 and consists of - Minotaur Barbarian - Aarakocra Warlock - Tiefling Paladin - Centaur Druid - Human Cleric

New review

Dmytro puts an incredible amount of effort into preparing each session, with detailed maps, miniatures, and vivid descriptions that really bring the world to life. He's fantastic for beginners: experienced, patient, and always happy to help with rules or questions. He also strikes a great balance between roleplaying and combat, keeping the game fun and engaging throughout. I would highly recommend joining one of his games!!

Amazing DM, listens to players and helps fit their stories in the campaign, very fair too.

Dmytro has grown in one of the best DND players and GMs I have had the good fortune to run sessions with. He is a considerate, kind and organized GM whose focus is entirely on providing a fun and enthralling experience for all his players. As his DND mentor, I have had the opportunity to see his talents improve over the years. He has taken the lessons that I have taught him, and I would say he has reached, and in some instances surpassed my skill. Dmytro is truly an exceptional GM and DND player and I whole hearted recommend him.

I think Dmytro's style is characterised by an excellent knowledge of the rules and mechanics combined with an incredible degree of effort invested in preparations for sessions. The hard-work that Dmytro puts in translates into confidence whilst he guides you through your adventure, which in turn imbues his players with a sense of security in him as that guide. In short, he's a very, very good DM.

Dmytro is fantastic. Well prepared with handouts, music and sound FX. Allows us to, and rewards roleplay while keeping the joint story moving along.

Additional details

How to prepare

Before the game launch, we'll talk over Discord and have a Session Zero, where we can discuss the campaign details, get to know each other, and set expectations. Please review the player guide that will be provided and start brainstorming ideas for your character. Make sure you have a working microphone, webcam, and a reliable internet connection. And most importantly, bring your positive energy and enthusiasm for an unforgettable adventure!

What I provide

I bring a lot to the table to make sure you have an exciting and immersive experience: Foundry VTT & Custom Content: I use Foundry VTT for seamless online play, along with custom maps and tokens to bring the world to life. Exciting Encounters & Monsters: You can expect engaging combat, with carefully designed encounters and exciting, challenging monsters. Limited Voice Acting: While I don’t go all-in on character voices, I do bring some to life to enhance key moments. Rules & Cool Factor: I stick to the rules as written but embrace the Rule of Cool to ensure the story remains exciting and dynamic. My goal is to create an experience that feels both structured and full of opportunity for creativity. You’ll have a chance to explore deep character moments, face tactical combat challenges, and embrace the thrill of the adventure!

Gameplay details

I prioritize player comfort and respect by using several safety tools: Session 0: We’ll go over character creation, expectations, and safety tools, ensuring everyone is on the same page. X, N, and O’s: X (Stop): If something feels uncomfortable, players can signal to pause the game. N (No-go): Boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed. O (Okay): Safe content we’re comfortable including. Communication: Players can use digital messages, signals, or verbal cues to communicate comfort levels and pause the game if necessary. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment for everyone to enjoy the game!

How will character creation work

For character creation, we’ll roll for stats, but you’ll have the option to use the alternative array (17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8) as a backup if preferred. We’ll be using the 2024 rules, with legacy materials (such as species and subclasses) allowed. Odyssey of the Dragonlords introduces new species and subclasses, which will be available for players as well. Each character will also have an Epic Path tied to their backstory, granting them a personal quest that will shape their journey. Characters will start at level 3 with 300 gold for starting equipment. Character creation will take place on D&D Beyond or directly in Foundry. All details will be discussed during Session 0, which will be free of charge.
