About the adventure
Etharis is brutal: wild lands, treacherous peaks, and decaying cities. Danger lurks everywhere, from monstrous beasts to human depravity. Forget saviors. You're the only one who can change things. Come join the group of heroes and investigate the terrifying monsters that await you this grim and dark world! Stand against threats without and within bleak settlements to ensure life, as such here, is able to continue. Hold onto your sanity and clear out the Lairs of Etharis! Players will be able to RP between sessions on Discord and gain information about each upcoming adventure. They can expect to level up after each session as this is a serial anthology adventure which will run for about 20 sessions (1 per level).

Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

How to prepare
You'll need a working mic, camera is optional. Discord and DnDBeyond accounts needed. Have a fair understanding of the rules, Etharis is not the place to learn the basics! :) Prepare yourself for dark themes and situations!
What I provide
I will provide all necessary source material through content sharing on DnDBeyond and a Discord server to play through. We will use DnDBeyond Maps when appropriate and Theater of the Mind otherwise. I lean toward Rule of Cool but firmly planted in what's written as well. The goal is to have fun and tell a story! I will try to include audio/music but I'm still learning to incorporate all of that so bear with me!
Gameplay details
We will go over most content expectations during session 0 and discuss any major potential issues. I will also have a basic questionnaire to fill out about playstyle and such. Open Door policy. If anything comes up during a session, mute/camera off, send me a message, anything at all to get my attention and I will stop the session to address the concern right then.

How will character creation work
Characters will be created during session 0, but have an idea beforehand if possible. 2024 rules + Tasha and Xanathar. Starting at level 1, point buy or standard array for stats.
