About the adventure

This will be a West Marches style where the players form parties that represent specific nations, and work for that nation attempting to unify the continent under 1 flag. Every week, we'll decide which country will be running, based on who has availability and the ramifications of each session will be felt by the table as a whole. Did Iscalio take a fortress from Leonia? Maybe next week Leonia will try to take it back! In the event that multiple countries are avalible we'll have special PvP sessions or diplomacy sessions. The Countries: (Based on Brigandine: The Legend of Forsena) New Almekia: The Prince of Almekia has unified the West Coast and aims to reclaim his Father's Kingdom from the evil Esgares. Caerleon: In the Southwest the erudite nation of Caerleon upholds old alliances, and defends against aggressive neighbors. Norgard: Far to the North, the militaristic Norgard sees its chance to finally expand out of their hostile territory. Iscalio: To the Southeast, Iscalio has seen the rise of a leader who's madness infects his people, leading to aggressiveness. Leonia: Sheltered by the mountains to the East, Leonia is the seat of Faith in Forsena, and seeks to spread it's influence.

Game style

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Recruiting notes

Players will be forming multiple parties based on nations from around the continent. Not every player will play every week. This is using the 2014 5e rules.

Additional details

How to prepare

You'll need Roll20, Discord, a mic (cams are optional), and a desire to play in this kind of story. Including patience for scheduling, since maybe you can make it every week, but the rest of the party can only make it once a month.

What I provide

As your GM I'll be bringing 25 years experience running ttrpg's, 3 of which professionally here on StartPlaying. I'll be bringing the maps, the monsters, the music, the intrigue, and the war.

Gameplay details

We'll go over this during Session 0's which I hope to run for each country separately, as I expect the game styles to be different.

How will character creation work

We'll do this during session 0, with the nation you are creating a character for in mind. Each one will be themed (to an extent, still play what you want)
