Tal'Morda 'Homebrew' Campaign - Beginner friendly
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
This will be a light-hearted campaign but with the potential for gritty or intense moments. I do love to do Gorey descriptions and use horror elements where I can. Finally, there IS the chance for character death (unless anyone is really uncomfortable with it). This is a homebrew campaign in the country of Tal'morda using 5e (2014 only). I have run this setting before and my style is definitely roleplay heavy with sprinkles of combat. Tal'morda is a multi-environment Island country with a lush north, a frozen south and a perilous dry west. The continent is split by a vast mountain range. Due to the naturally formed boundaries, the races of these lands have formed isolated communities, which seemingly have lead the country defenceless to invasion. Can you and your party, whoever they may be, do anything to help the people and the hierarchy of this land? Can you solve the underlying issues and repel the intruders?

How to prepare
You will need: - Some Sanity (I've lost mine) - a DnD Beyond account - a Roll20 account - a Discord account - A microphone is preferable (Headset mic may be okay if audible) - I use a camera, but this is optional
What I provide
- My bubbly British self. - I will provide Character voices to NPCs as far as possible. I'm not a voice actor but I'm pretty good at offering a variety of voices. - I will provide battle maps where they are planned into the campaign. For this I will provide tokens, unless you have a specific token you would like to use. - I don't pull punches in combat/ There is always a risk of character death. However, there is always the opportunity for redemption as well. - There will be music playing to help set the scene and create suspense. - I have a healthy mix of RAW and Rule of Cool dependant on the situation but I am flexible (or try to be). - I also have a fair amount of DnD Beyond content that I can share with players who require it. (I don't have EVERY book)
Gameplay details
Our session 0 will be an opportunity to raise any triggers or concerns we may have. This will be done anonymously to avoid any fear of judgement. In the cases of sessions having potentially unavoidable but upsetting topics, I will endeavour to, where possible, afford consent warning beforehand in case anyone wishes to Open door. We will take breaks at convenient stopping points and will follow every session up with an opportunity to discuss anything they need to before re-entering reality to avoid bleeding over emotions. House Rules: I have a few house rules I use. I will put some here so that you can decide if they're preferable or deal-breaking - Rule of cool/ Sometimes I may ignore a ruling to give a good time. Rules are meant to be broken when you want to triple backflip off a dragon. - Potions/ If used as a Bonus action you roll the effect. If used as an Action they are 100% efficacious. - Deal with the Devil/ At any point a player can opt to turn a roll of theirs into a Nat20. However, I, the DM, can return this by changing a future roll of that player to a Nat1 down the line. - Flanking/ I don't use this optional rule. -High Ground/ 10ft above an enemy offers advantage on ranged attacks. This is true in reverse.

How will character creation work
Character creation we will do together in Session 0. However, here are some basic outlines to allow you time to ponder: - 2014 Rules only (Haven't had chance to re-adjust yet). Characters through DnD Beyond. - We will begin at Character Level 3. - HP will be rolled with the option of accepting average. - Stats will be rolled as a group. - You will start with 2x Common magic items each. - Multiclassing is allowed providing you can understand your own multiclass. - I won't ban any books BUT I would prefer no 'Broken Builds'. I'm aware this is subjective but I will speak individually with anyone who may have one.
