Alune's Legacy
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
The trickster god Alune is dead. In a gruesome battle against the hunter god Nuada, Alune sacrificed himself to save his newly created people, the Ambers. Not one to leave without a failsafe, Alune’s death activated seven obelisks across the nation of Amber as well as a magical wall to protect his people. Four millennium after Alune's death, the Ambers have grown by leaps and bounds. Trade and technological advancements have flourished as well as arcane knowledge. A dark cloud is on the horizon, however, as the circle of seven oracles, the Holyxyms, receive conflicting visions of the future. Without a god to protect them this time around, who can defend Amber against threats, old and new?
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare
An account on Discord with a functioning mic and webcam will be needed as well as a Roll20 account. This game is open for new players so if you are a complete newbie, don't worry about it, I can't walk you through it.
What I provide
Alune’s Legacy is an epic campaign for players interested in being heroes. We're talking high-fantasy high stakes game. I'm taking you on a journey from level 3 to level 20 if you are up to the challenge. This campaign is my crown jewel. I first ran it when 5e came out and as a baby GM. Since then, every iteration gets better. I have a lot of fun playing it and I'd be honored to run it for new players. This is a homebrew story for which I have made hundred of handouts and maps. The world is complex and filled with many multi-faceted NPCs. For the maps I have not made myself, I have beautiful ones by great patreon artists. I have curated playlists for the different locations of our journey. To keep us connected, we'll play on a dedicated Discord server and for the game engine we'll use Roll20. As far as my GMing style, I highly value collaborative storyletting, so the more you engage with the story (the NPCs, environment, etc) and with your fellow players, the more rewards you will get. I like outside-of-the-box thinking too, so I will allow many things at the table as long as it makes sense and doesn't overshadow other players. During encounters, I like dynamic combat. Here again I will allow smart moves even if it bends the rules a little, but mostly I run tight ship.
Gameplay details
Each player will be required to fill a Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist before the game. I will go over each of them, and compile them. I share a compilation so we each know what our limits are as a group. The content warning tags might seem long, but I'd say this game is pretty standard in terms of fantasy violence. The campaign will take place in different environments so that's why there are many different elemental triggers in the list. It is a game for adults however, and is better suited for people who enjoy discussing ethical and moral issues. During Session 0 I will discuss the main themes of the campaign as well as how each session will go. We'll address any preferences there too and do introductions. I'm very much a "open door" type of GM, you can always DM me anytime or interrupt the game at any point if there is an issue. After a game, I always take a few moments to debrief, ask how it went and take any feedback. I like to ask people's favourite moments and we can also share and address any issue we didn't have the time to go over ingame.

How will character creation work
I like when character are well integrated in the narrative so I take a good amount of time with each player to discuss what they want and how it can fit within the greater tapestry of the world. Each character are to be pretty much set in stone before session 0. Character creation is pretty open for this game, we will be playing 5e 2014. Starting at level 3, all official books can be used to create a PC except Strixhaven, Wildemount & Van Richten's.
