Out of the Abyss | Flee the Drow, Escape the Underdark
Flee the Drow who hunt you, navigate alien landscapes of subterranean caverns. Become embroiled in the sinister plots of factions of the Underdark.
About the adventure
You feel the weight of cold metal around your neck and wrists, captured by the Drow. —You wouldn't wish this fate upon anyone, trapped far beneath the earth in the alien environs of the Underdark. Should you and your companions manage to free yourselves from the clutches of your cruel captors, will you be able to survive the winding passages, treacherous caverns, and merciless monsters long enough to reach the surface? In this adventure, from levels 1-15, you'll be exploring labrynthine cave systems, evading the Drow who hunt you, and becoming caught up in the plots of that various factions who make there home below the surface. All while far more sinister forces work in the background, threatening the Realms.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Howdy gamers, I'm Seth, over the past few years I've become a connoisseur of OSR style sandbox gaming, and now I'm taking a new leap towards sharing that passion with more people. Of the core pillars of Combat, Social Encounters and Exploration, Exploration is my favourite, I love to present rich scenes that foster creative solutions and reward lateral thinking. My games are particularly inspired by media such as The Tolkien Mythos, Bladerunner, Neuromancer, Citizen Sleeper, The Machineries of Empire, and The Witcher novels.

Having Seth as a game master is such a fun and easy experience that I look forward to every week. A lot of the time, game masters specialize in different things like rules knowledge, creative world building, and roleplay opportunity making. Seth is so good at all 3 that it feels unfair. They are an encyclopedia when it comes to the rules. Not only that, but they help you in a way that doesn't make you feel stupid for not knowing them. Their homebrew world that I have played in feels so alive and vast but also small enough for you to feel like your character can impact it in a meaningful way. My character in their game is my favorite character I've ever had and the only person I would want running their game is Seth.
I've played TTRPGs with Seth for years now, and they're a fantastic person, GM, and player! They have built some fantastic worlds, fun dungeons, creative puzzles, unique and interesting NPCs, and super awesome homebrew weapons throughout our campaigns. They're also really big on player inclusivity, agency and creativity - anything you want to do, Seth will make possible. They are also wicked smart with rules and monsters, and will put up a fight when players want a challenge. Play with Seth - they're fantastic!
I have had the luxury of playing in a campaign with Seth DMing for almost 3 years now. The world building they’ve fostered has given us, the players, the ability to know that things aren’t just sitting still while we adventure. It makes it feel far more immersive. I’ve always been super inspired by everything they come up with, and I really feel like my choices are taken into consideration. Our goals for our characters, and as a party, have weight to them and we see our influence in how NPCs and denizens of the game world react to our decisions and actions ( or inaction at times ). We discover lore and more about the world, while still having more TO uncover! It feels very much like natural progression, both in what the characters would know, and what we the players get to uncover! They’re a big fan of the players. Understands the rules, but has always worked with us on how we want to accomplish things. Has no issue clarifying things, and is overall just really fun to play with. I constantly look forward to any session they run or are a part of!
They put tremendous work into the world building of their campaigns to keep the story engaging and interesting, and they put in the extra effort to include all players actively in the game and making sure they feel welcome and like they're a valuable part of the campaign and story. They also keep dungeons, puzzles, and enemy and NPC encounters varied and interesting, and they give many opportunities for roleplay among fellow players and with NPCs

How Seth creates a safe table
Each player will be asked for their lines & veils, which will be compiled into an anonymous document which will be available as a handout in Foundry that we'll go over during session 0. Digital X, N & O cards will be available through a Foundry module. Session 0 will be held to set expectations, discuss safety tools, briefly go over Foundry modules, coordinate character decisions, and integrate each character with the rest of the party as well as the setting. There will be a 5-10 minute break around 90 minutes into the session.
