About the adventure

Based on the popular liveplay campaign from DUNGEON DUDES, Dungeons of Drakkenheim takes place fifteen years after the city of Drakkenheim was destroyed by an storm of falling stars with mysterious eldritch power. Now haunted by hideously mutated monsters and contaminated with mysterious magic, the urban wasteland of the formerly magnificent city contains fantastic wealth, mysterious artifacts, and lost knowledge for those brave, or foolish, enough to venture into the ruins. Pick a faction to ally with, but be careful as to do so will undoubtedly make you marked by their rivals. Choose your allies carefully, plan your expeditions, and know when to flee... for rest within the ruined city is all but impossible to find. Dare you enter the Dungeons of Drakkenheim? Or maybe something a little easier to handle. I hear Barovia is looking to get rid of a pesky vampire lord, and in Faerun there may be multiple demon lords loose in the Underdark. Perhaps that is more up your alley? 😉

I like to include concepts from both Level Up: Advanced 5e and Tales of the Valiant that I think enhance the game, but I know that some players do not like certain devaitions from the rules, so many of the alterations to the rules as written are optional. If the party is uncertain, we can also try them out for a couple of sessions before deciding how to proceed in the campaign.

Rob is a great storyteller. He takes an old campaign and reforms it into something that is uniquely of his own imagination. He seems ready for any challenges that the players create for his world and spins them wonderfully into the world he created.

Fantastic GM! Very welcoming at the table for newcomers and quick to bring them into the story. Uses VTT tools and ambient soundscapes very well to create highly immersive combats. Utilizes safety tools in a very convenient way that ensures all players have the chance to provide their hard and soft limits at the table. Overall, a fantastic storyteller, and anyone would be lucky to sit at his table!

Rob is a great DM. His sessions are always organized and fun. He runs them smoothly--he's clearly knowledgeable and experienced. Outside of each session, he is also a great communicator. He's fair, fun, reliable, consistent--all in all, I'd highly recommend joining his games.

Rob very easily incorporated my character into the story. I didnt get to play long but felt very included with the group right away. Rob also created challenging circumstances in the game, which is something I really appreciate. I do not like to play a game that is super easy. Also, he is very easy to get a long with and helps you become part of the game.

How to prepare

Join the Eye Wonder Artistry & Games Discord using the following link: https://discord.gg/85mapxn3Y7 Say hi in the General channel with the name and day of the campaign and I'll assign you the correct role for the private campaign channel. Download and install the Demo version of Fantasy Grounds Unity (download for free from https://www.fantasygrounds.com/) before your first session (if possible; I'll help with setup if not possible). At game time, bring yourself and your mic, a webcam if you wish (no pressure to be on camera though!) log into the Discord voice channel for this campaign, and open up Fantasy Grounds. I'll provide everything else!

What I provide

I will provide: Fantasy Grounds Unity Ultimate License Ambient Sounds Music Optional House Rules Custom Art and Maps Player Aids as PDFs where needed I tend to run a fairly relaxed table. The aim is to have fun telling a collaborative story, and most of the time that means letting things flow with the natural energy of the group. But this is your game and I will use all the skills I have picked up from thirty years of TTRPGs, theatre, voice acting, storytelling, writing and other endeavours to bring the story to life for you and tailor the style as best I can to what the group wants. I use a handful of house rules that I have picked up over the years that I think enhance the game, and I offer others as options for the party to try out, adopt, or reject. I value feedback so that I can make this the experience that you want from the campaign. I tend to slightly favor the players in decision making - after all you are the heroes of the story - but not so much as to take away the challenge or the danger. Just enough to give you a slight edge when the dice turn against you. But if the dice REALLY turn against you, or your character makes a particularly egregious bad decision. Well... there are endless heroes to roll up!

How will character creation work

3 Options for stats to be chosen from by the players as a whole (everyone will use the same option): 1) Standard Array 2) 4d6 drop the lowest (slightly higher average, normal mins. & maxes) 3) 2d6+2d4 (slightly lower average, higher mins. & maxes.) Characters created either at Session 0 or before players' first session. Pregen characters of party's current level available. All WotC allowed, most 3rd party material acceptable with GMs review for party balance.
