About the adventure

To the Sleepers, Nova Sunset is the greatest of the many new urban areas that are springing up across Vietnam, a kaleidoscoping melting pot of a dozen cultures bubbling away over a fire of billions of USD in international investment. But you know more. For you are one of the Wise. You know that the city is alive, eager, and clingy. You know that it wishes to please and to wow. Head out with a destination in mind, sticking to the main roads, you will find nothing strange. Yet walk down a road without a goal in mind, you'll find the city opening up to you like a labyrinth of glass and steel, drawing you down strange alleys you've never seen before, to little establishments you've never heard of. They're not on the map; they're too small for that. But you're also not sure how you got here, or where you are. Yet they will entertain you, if only until sunrise. And when you leave, you just know that the City always has more surprises for you. It's hard to leave her. She seems to know your intention. Drive away for a weekend in town, or a holiday away? The roads are wide open. Yet if you ever wish to pull up roots, you'll suddenly find that it is oh so very difficult to leave, and oh so very easy to stay. The city's myriad mysteries lured you in, and now you found yourself entangled deep in the machination of its Consilium. The Hierarch is missing, the Council is covering it up, and you have been volunteered for the task of tracking her down.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare

Players should have a functional mic and a PC with good internet connection that can handle running Foundry. Players will be joining in through the browser interface, so they do not need to download and install anything.

What I provide

I will bring the VTT, maps, tokens, all released contents, ambient music and the stories themselves! If needed, I can help you make your own token or put you in contact with artists who'll be happy to take commission.

Gameplay details

A session 0 will be held where I introduce the campaign and its theme and content. This is when all players can establish their lines, veils, and expectation. During the session 0, i will also be going through the safety tools we use. During each session, there will be a 15 minute rest for everyone to catch their breath. At the end of each session, players will go through their Stars and Wishes. At the end of each arc, I will go through and debrief everyone on their experience with the campaign so far and whether there is anything I can improve as a DM I will be available for talk and discussion on content and direction between sessions.
