War of Immortals: Reclaim Your Own Lost Divinity!

War of Immortals: Reclaim Your Own Lost Divinity!

Pathfinder 2e | Campaign

About the adventure

As the "War of Immortals" rages across Golarion, more than one deity has gone missing. These immortals, drained of their divine spark, find themselves forced to work together to battle the Gosdfall curse, and the primordial entity that seeks to absorb their power. These fallen gods are you. This adventure takes full of advantage of the "mythic" rules introduced in "War of Immortals". Expect an otherwordly adventure that takes you to realms that mortals can only glimpse. This is a medium-length campaign, going from 16th to 20th level. Because of the high starting level, familiarity with Pathfinder 2nd Edition is expected. We will be playing weekly at the same time.

Game style

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Party notes

Prepare ye for war, immortals! In this high level adventure, players are expected to take on the role of fallen gods. Deprived of their divinity, they find themselves forced to work together in order to reclaim their postions in the pantheon. The adventure makes full use of the "mythic" rules published in "War of Immortals". Because of the high level, some familiarity with the Pathfinder 2nd Edition system is expected. Please get in touch if you have any questions, and let me know what your favourite Golarion deity is!

How to prepare

A good quality headset to prevent interference/feedback is required. A webcam is encouraged but not necessary. You will need to create a (free) Forge account if you don't already have one, in order to access the virtual table top, and join the Discord server. Character creation will need to happen before our first session together, as described above.

What I provide

All material required to play will be provided electronically through Foundry VTT. Our game will be hosted online on Forge, and you will be able to access your character between sessions. Communication will be through Discord.

Gameplay details

In addition to themes of war, as suggested in the title, this adventure includes some difficult moral choices, themes of religious fanaticism and prejudice, and elements of cosmic horror. In addition, because the adventure encourages the players to keep their full "divine" identity a secret for much of the game, some potential for interesting character conflict might arise. As fallen deities, the player characters each have their own agenda, but players should make sure that their characters are able to prioritise cooperation and party success. All players have the right to feel safe and respected at the table. Any language or behaviour that makes others feel unwelcome or uncomfortable will not be tolerated. Digital safety tools will be available during the game, and we will create a list of our own Lines and Veils during our first session together.

How will character creation work

Because of the high starting level, characters should be created in advance, in consultation with the GM. Choosing your true identity as one of Golarion's missing deities is a major part of this process, and this decision will be kept secret from other players, until you choose to reveal yourself. We will be making full use of the mythic rules from "War of Immortals", to an extent that no official adventures have been able to do so far.
