Dungeons of Drakkenheim ~ Urban Fantasy-Horror Campaign ~ LGBTQ+
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Explore an urban wasteland corrupted by eldritch magic Aid or oppose rival factions vying for control of Drakkenheim's future An original, third-party 5E campaign by YouTube's favorite Dungeon Dudes Fifteen years ago, the city of Drakkenheim was destroyed in a shower of falling stars. Those who survived the destruction faced new horrors: abominations contaminated and mutated by the meteors' radiation. The city was abandoned and the kingdom of Westemar soon fell to civil war. The meteors which fell that fateful day carried death and madness but also an arcane element called delerium - powerful, volatile . . . and valuable. Now the fate of Westemar, of the world itself, depends on who controls the delerium and who is willing to delve into the dungeons of Drakkenheim to find it. "Dungeons of Drakkenheim" is an open-ended, sandbox-style horror/fantasy campaign which runs from levels 1 to 12. The focus of the campaign is not an overarching narrative or a Big Bad to defeat, but rather how your characters shape the legacy of the fallen city. The story of the campaign is YOUR stories. Choose your personal quest, make your own faction alliances, and decide how you explore and survive the blighted ruins.
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare
Players will need a microphone but not a webcam. Players will need access to a reliable internet connection as well as DND Beyond and Discord. Players will also need to create an account Forge-VTT where I host the game.
What I provide
I will supply all the assets I own in DND Beyond (and will purchase assets I do not own at the players' request). I will also supply professionally created digital battlemaps, art, and music.
Gameplay details
Upon joining in my campaign, you will have access to my Discord, which will lay out clearly the Lines we do not cross and the Veils we use to obscure certain elements of the story we do not wish to dwell upon. Players are welcome to add their own Lines and Veils as well. I will also provide guidelines for players to address issues with me in a safe and respectful manner.

How will character creation work
Character creation will happen in DND Beyond and Discord chat prior to session zero. During session zero, player backgrounds and motivations will be discussed so that all players can contribute to the group dynamic. There are no racial or class restrictions, however silly characters are discouraged (unless they have a twist i.e. vampire fairy). There are some restrictions on optional rules (specifically feats and multi-classing) which you will be made aware of in detail prior to session zero as well as my reasoning for implementing restrictions.
