About the adventure
The Gauntlight flickers again. A pale glow pulses from the ruins, whispering of something stirring in the dark. Legends say that Belcorra Haruvex, the sorceress who dreamed of drowning the world in shadow, was defeated long ago. But evil never stays buried forever, and the depths beneath Gauntlight hold more than just old bones. This is Abomination Vaults—Paizo’s premier megadungeon for Pathfinder 2e. It is a tactical, combat-driven dungeon adventure, built for players who love delving into ancient ruins, testing their skills in challenging fights, and uncovering long-lost secrets. If you enjoy classic dungeon crawls with a modern ruleset, you’re in the right place. But a good dungeon needs a good home base. And, Otari isn’t just a stop between dungeon dives—it’s a vibrant town with a stunning map, a cast of unique characters to befriend (or turn into rivals), and plenty of side quests that I’ll expand with my own collection of third-party adventures. Between expeditions, you’ll rest, roleplay, and take on downtime activities that make your character’s life outside the dungeon just as compelling as their adventures within it. Whether you’re gathering information, securing rare supplies, or getting caught up in local intrigue, you’ll find plenty to do when you’re not knee-deep in crypt dust. ⚔️ What to Expect in This Game ✅ A Dungeon That Fights Back – Gauntlight is a reactive, shifting dungeon with lots of ecology, rival factions, deadly traps, and evolving threats. ✅ Tactical Combat That Rewards Smart Play – Pathfinder 2e’s combat is fast, dynamic, and rewards smart, tactical play—reckless adventurers beware. ✅ A Living Town Outside the Dungeon – Otari is more than a place to buy gear. There are people to meet, alliances to forge, and downtime activities that make the town feel like part of the adventure. ✅ A Focused, Classic Experience – If you love megadungeons, exploration, and tactical play, this game is for you. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to make impactful character choices, but the campaign itself is a structured, strategic adventure. ✅ A Well-Prepared, Engaging GM (That’s me!) – I love Pathfinder and Paizo and am excited to bring dynamic encounters, fun roleplay, and plenty of player-driven shenanigans to the table.
Game style
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
Looking for a hero who can jump into an ongoing game. We are currently at level 3 so there are still 7+ floors of the dungeon left to explore! This could be a great opportunity if you are looking to start a 5th level character and jump right into the action

How to prepare
Technical preparation: • The big thing here is that you need a computer with a stable internet connection and a reliable way for us to hear your voice. We are using Discord for audio. You can download it for free if you don’t have it already. The computer version works great if you have a microphone, otherwise, you can put it on your phone and use earbuds. You will also need to make a free account on Roll20.net. This doesn’t require any additional downloads. All services will be provided through the browser Social Preparation: • This is a game that we are all playing to have fun. You should be excited to play and also be excited for other people to join you and have fun as well. Players should arrive with an attitude of friendly cooperation. • Previous TTRPG experience is not a requirement to join. However, players can prepare for the game by familiarizing themselves with basic gameplay concepts such as rolling different-sided dice and using the 6 stats on your character sheet. One-on-one: • I’d like to schedule a short 5-10 minute conversation over Discord sometime before session 0. Just to introduce myself, answer any questions you might have, and smooth over any snags before we jump into the game.
What I provide
I bring the adventure, core Pathfinder 2e rules, official and third-party supplements, and a huge amount of enthusiasm to every session. Abomination Vaults is an exceptional dungeon crawl, and I love running it. Expect challenging, tactical combat, immersive roleplay, and plenty of surprises along the way. To bring the setting to life, I provide high-quality maps, custom tokens and art, music and ambiance, and carefully chosen third-party materials that enhance the experience. With both passion and technical expertise, I am for a game that is engaging, well-paced, and rewarding for every player.
Gameplay details
Abomination Vaults is a classic dungeon-crawling adventure, filled with ancient horrors, long-buried secrets, and the remnants of a villain who was never fully defeated. It’s about testing your wits and courage in a dangerous, evolving environment, where the dungeon itself is as much a challenge as the creatures lurking within it. Because of that, the game leans into themes of exploration, peril, and the supernatural. While it isn’t a horror game, some creepy, unsettling, or grim moments may come up in the course of play. I believe it’s possible to tell these kinds of stories in a way that is fun, exciting, and respectful of player comfort—but that requires trust, communication, and clear boundaries. When you sign up, I’ll send out a Lines and Veils document so we can establish content preferences upfront. During Session 0, we’ll go over: My DMing style and the overall tone we want to set for the game. As well as additional safety tools we’ll be using. It’s important to me that everyone at the table feels comfortable at the table. We’ll use tools like the X-card and an open-door policy, and I encourage players to speak up—before, during, or after a session—if something isn’t working for them. My goal is to create a game where we can engage with thrilling challenges and dark mysteries while ensuring that everyone at the table is having fun.

How will character creation work
We will build level one characters as a group during session 0. I'll be there to answer questions and help anyone who needs it. It might be useful to familiarize yourself with the Pathbuilder website as a way to work ideas and manage character complexity.
