Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition | Campaign
About the adventure
This will be a Vampire: The Masquerade chronicle set in Sin City itself, Las Vegas. At the beginning of the campaign, players will take the role of Kindred; undead bloodsuckers that prowl the night, often exerting influence over mortal society; in other words, vampires! Players can expect to explore the dark secrets the city holds, along with vying for power, battling with other supernatural creatures, and solidifying their own place in Kindred society. Absolutely no experience is required; rules and gameplay will be explained as the game progresses. We will begin with a session 0 for safety tools and character creation, which will be free!
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare
Players will need a Discord account and a decent-quality microphone. Other than that, everything necessary will be provided!
What I provide
This game will be played utilizing Foundry VTT; no preparation beforehand is necessary in that regard unless players wish to familiarize themselves with the application. A mix of GM-made and premade maps will be used, and each player will receive a token with art that they designate. The GM will provide all necessary books. I love to use ambient music whenever possible, both for combat and roleplay scenes, and am trying to get better at doing character voices! In terms of GMing style, I tend to focus on story and roleplay over anything else and try to reward good roleplay; I prefer to run Rule of Cool and Rules as Intended where possible rather than strictly adhering to the written word of the book(s).
Gameplay details
Vampire is by its nature a rather dark game that carries definite potential to cause discomfort; therefore, I take the use of safety tools very seriously. The primary safety tools I use are Lines and Veils and the X Card. Lines and veils involves discussing topics that would best be left out entirely, as well as those that can be included but should be glossed over (i.e. the fade to black approach). The X card acts as a kind of safeword; if someone holds up the X card, play stops immediately and a break is taken, followed by discussion on what needs to change heading forward. The X card is built into Foundry in this case.

How will character creation work
Character creation will occur during Session 0; players will be starting as neonate vampires. Characters will follow the standard character creation process outlined in the V5 corebook.
