CHALET BRANTIFAX: A Candlekeep Adventure [ Beginner Friendly ]
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
What secrets might you uncover at Candlekeep? Where might they transport you to, and what mysteries might you unfold there? This is an adventure for the knowledge lovers and mystery solvers; those with much love for a puzzling tome, and much love for a (or many) quest(s) of wisdom! "Welcome to Candlekeep citadel, seeker! We boast the largest collection of scholarship and written literature of the lands of Faerun. Pay your fee, submit your work, and prepare to learn." P.S. This adventure is NOT a hack and slash and doesn't yield itself to murder hobo behaviour. If that is what you're looking for, this isn't the campaign for you. We will be going through character creation in some amount of detail to properly establish your roots in Faerun, and specifically within Candlekeep. You could be a student (seeker) that is wanting to join, or you could already be a seeker there. Perhaps you wish to find a cure for an illness that has plagued your hometown, or maybe you want to uncover the mysterious and surprising nature of the citadel itself. There is room for most ideas to thrive in this module, so knock yourself out.
This will be a 3rd level campaign - and you will begin already established at Candlekeep citadel as seekers, sages or acolytes, or recent apprentices. The choice of background and reason is up to the players, but you will all be responding as members of Candlekeep. Character creation will happen in Session 0, and we can talk through concepts then!

How to prepare
You will need a discord, and you will need to be audible. That is all. Maybe a roll20 account will help too! :)No need to create characters prior to Session 0.
What I provide
A Candlekeep Comepndium supported and enabled Roll 20 game, Maps, Tokens, Fun and Unique Narrative Descriptions, Roleplay Moments, Music, A Modded Discord Server. I do embrace RoC, and will typically favour it over RaW (depending on how cool and creative it is, of course!) I tend to "yes, and" a lot, and there are very few questions, queries, suggestions, etc. that I will outright reject and say no to.
Gameplay details
We will go over each line, veil, trigger, etc. in session 0 and I will make a note of it. If need be, I will share the same with the players! You are free to stop me and ask me to move on if a description gets too violent and grotesque, and you may always add to your list of lines, veils, triggers by simply messaging them to me!

How will character creation work
I am a more narrative focused GM, and so will expect my players to have a few motivations (they can be simple and light, doesn't need to be earthshaking) for your characters. I will naturally guide you through them step by step, and especially so if you're a brand new D&D player. :) We take session 0 as a base for character creation! Stats will be decided via Avrae's (a Discord dice bot) !randchar prompt. Starting level is dependant on the anthology from Candlekeep that I will be running, and will be specified on the recruiting notes of the listing I post. Characters may be created on DND Beyond, if you have it, or I will manually edit them into roll20! Homebrew is not really meant for this type of campaign and thus, will not be entertained. We will use 2014 rules, and TCoE is fine to use. Otherwise, we will be using all official sourcebooks for DND to create our characters.
