A Million Ways to Die in the Manawastes | An Outlaws Story
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
The flintlock pistol rests, primed and ready, a relic of deadly precision from an age of smoke and steel. The hammer—shaped like the beak of a war-hardened rooster—stands tall, cocked back, coiled with tension. A flick of the trigger sends it hurtling forward with mechanical finality. Steel meets flint in a violent kiss, the frizzen recoiling with a sharp metallic snap. A shower of incandescent sparks erupts, tiny glowing embers torn from the frizzen’s surface, each one a fleeting star dying in an instant. They cascade downward, seeking the waiting gunpowder in the flash pan. Ignition- a shot heard 'round Alkentstar. Just like that, the heist begins. Under the guidance of a mysterious patron, you and your crew pull off the job of much needed job—robbing a small bank owned by another despicable outlaw. Through a haze of gunpowder and the wail of alarm bells, you run. You fight. Do you survive? Welcome to the Mana Wastes. Ready to take the shot? Don’t miss.
I’m looking forward to crafting a world where every character is as distinct and finely tuned as the mechanical workings of a custom firearm, as varied as the grain composition of blackpowder, and as deliberately refined as the nth-degree precision of an alchemical concoction. Every choice—every gear turned, every charge measured, every mixture balanced—will shape not just your character, but the very pulse of the world around you. This isn’t just a story; it’s a carefully calibrated explosion of creativity, where the smallest details define the biggest moments. Let’s build something unforgettable.

How to prepare
This game is built on immersion and intensity, and that starts with how you show up. Links provided in confirmation email after reserving your seat! ✅ Discord – All group internal communications. ✅ Zoom & Forge – All sessions run through Zoom. ✅ Forge – Foundry Virtual Table Top ✅ A Solid Mic – Clear audio is non-negotiable. If your mic is bad or you’re in a noisy environment, it breaks immersion for everyone. ✅ Quiet Space – Background noise kills the mood. Find a distraction-free zone where you can focus. ✅ Character Ready – Build with intent. Read the Player’s Guide and come prepared to contribute. If you’re set up properly, we hit the ground running—no wasted time, no distractions, just great storytelling and hard-hitting gameplay.
What I provide
🔹 Tactical Combat Depth – I bring a more immersive and strategic feel to combat, emphasizing real-world gunfighting tactics like cover usage, fire discipline, and suppressive fire. 🔹 Weapons and Ballistics Knowledge – My understanding of firearms allows me to describe gunplay with authenticity, from the kick of an arquebus to the handling of black powder weaponry. 🔹 Squad-Based Coordination – Whether players are working together to clear an alley of undead or holding a choke point, I can guide them toward teamwork-based solutions that feel natural rather than gamey. 🔹 Leadership and Player Engagement – My ability to keep a team focused and engaged will ensure that every player feels like they have a role to play. Whether someone is sniping from a rooftop or holding the line with a scattergun, I can make them feel like their actions matter. 🔹 Morale and Psychological Pressure – I understand the emotional toll of prolonged engagements, even in a fictional setting. The rising tension of an ever-growing zombie horde can hit harder when framed through the lens of exhaustion, dwindling ammo, and the creeping weight of survival decisions.

How will character creation work
Your character begins at 1st level, shaped by the rough streets of Alkenstar or drawn to its chaos from distant lands. Whether you are a sharpshooter, a cunning rogue, or a vengeful alchemist, your story is one of survival in a city teeming with rival gangs, clockwork guardians, and corrupt officials. Creating Your Character 🔹 Ancestries & Backgrounds: Alkenstar is a melting pot of inventors, mercenaries, and misfits. Human, dwarf, gnoll, or even geniekin—you have a place here. Your background should tie into the city’s criminal underbelly, industrial sprawl, or political schemes. 🔹 Classes: While any class is welcome, Gunslingers, Alchemists, Rogues, and Investigators thrive in Alkenstar’s gritty, gear-driven world. 🔹 Skills & Feats: Your character should be quick-witted, resourceful, and adaptable. Feats related to firearms, subterfuge, or survival in an urban landscape will serve you well. A City of Opportunities… and Consequences Your journey begins with a heist, a betrayal, and a thirst for payback. Whether you seek justice or vengeance, one truth remains—only the bold thrive in Alkenstar. Lock and load, outlaw. The city is waiting.
