About the adventure

DRAKKENHEIM IS NO MORE. An eldritch storm of falling stars devastated the city on that woeful eve, leaving behind a meteorite that would have lasting effects. Fifteen years later, Drakkenheim is a dismal urban wasteland contaminated by otherworldly magic and haunted by hideous monsters. Fantastic wealth, lost knowledge, and powerful artefacts lie ready for the taking by adventurers brave or foolish enough to venture into the ruins. However, even those who survive the dangers of Drakkenheim might not return unmarked by its terrors!

About me

Hello! My name's gibzx! I'm a digital artist and Dungeon Master! I've been playing D&D for 5 years now and it's been an evolving passion ever since. I'm always looking to add new friends and faces to my table and adventure together. May your blades be strong, and may your d20s be powerful as ever ❤️ I am a Digital Artist, Graphic Designer, and Fiction Writing Enthusiast. Originally born and raised in Mexico, I spent my childhood engrossing myself in fantasy and fiction media, which became my primary hobby and passion as I grew older. Shortly after finishing primary school, I moved to Singapore to continue my education and broaden my horizons. Living in two very distinct and quite literally opposite sides of the world has helped me absorb many interesting sources of folklore and history that I otherwise would've never encountered, as well as meeting new people that altogether have shaped my creative process when writing and creating adventures. Right now I can be found juggling many projects between running 5 different tables as a DM, as well as partaking in some games as a player & writing custom/original content that I hope to publish one day soon! Arriving today at the present, my passion for both DMing and playing has only grown stronger, as I venture out of my comfort zone to try and bring a unique experience of boundless adventure to you.

Character creation

Creating your character

I like to divide character creation into two categories, thematically and mechanically. ------------------------------------------------ - You may create a character using legacy 5e creation, or new 2024 DnD One rules, but no mixing between the two resources. (races/backgrounds) - Level 1 starting point, Standard Point Buy System (27) - Free Starting Feat is using legacy 5e - All Drakenheim as well as official WoTC 5e material sources allowed, and homebrew is up for DM approval after discussion (i.e. Matt Mercer's Bloodhunter, Keith Baker's Eberron Expanded, etc. ------------------------------------------------ As for the thematic category of character creation, I hope this provides you with enough info to get the creative juices flowing!: -PARTY QUEST- This adventure's starting plothook comes from an independent group of arcane researchers and scholars: The Eos Collective! An organization comprised of academics in pursuit of knowledge and uncovering the mysteries of the world, the Eos Collective has a keen interest in the acquisition of rare and powerful materials & artifacts, as well as the documentation of Drakkenheim's lost history. As such, The Eos Collective has begun funding expedition groups of brave adventurers that can help them in furthering the organization's research. This party is one such group. -PERSONAL QUEST- A character’s core motivation for adventuring in Drakkenheim is represented by their personal quest, and marks the true reason for adventuring into the cursed lands of Drakkenheim. This is a specific individual objective for player characters to achieve during the campaign. Player characters may select from a table of quests, or work with the Game Master to design one. Unfortunately the actual list is too long to list in this short description box - join the campaign and contact me for access to the Foundry & Discord where all resources like these are hosted!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

In-game requirements: Character Backstory, sheet, description, and character visual representation (Art/token). Outside Requirements: The Forge account (free), Discord account, Microphone and Headset, browser with hardware acceleration support. (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, etc.)

What Gibrand brings to the table

I will be hosting the FoundryVTT game through my personal Forge server, with all required sheets, tokens, music, SFX, handouts, etc.

Homebrew rules

I have some homebrew rules that I am quite fond of and include in all my games, such as: - Drinking options can be either a bonus or main action. Bonus is rolled HP, while taking a whole action ensures it heals the max amount. - Flanking provides a +2 bonus to attack rolls - Death saving throws are rolled privately - Changing/sheathing/drawing weapons are considered a single interaction. i.e. you can put away your longbow and draw dual-wielded daggers as part of 1 interaction - The minimum amount of damage that a Critical Hit can deal is the maximum of its non-crit version. Additionally, we will discuss more homebrew rules during session 0, as I'm always open to include more if the party calls for it - as well as clarify any questions about established homebrew rules.

How Gibrand creates a safe table

I want all my players to have a good time and be comfortable above all. Session 0 will serve to discuss the lines and veils of what additional boundaries players wish to set, but keep in mind that this also applies beyond session 0! I am always open to additional discussion during the campaign, and adjusting accordingly. This is a welcoming table, and I am always willing to work together to be as inclusive as possible. :)
