JoJo's Bizarre FATE
Fate Accelerated | Campaign
About the adventure
There are many strange phenomenon in this world, occurances which defy conventional explanation. When the everyday citizens of the city get caught up in these situations they turn to the Last Stand Detective Agency, a private investigation firm which takes on cases that involve the inexplicable and the supernatural. As employees of Last Stand you find yourself on the frontlines of the bizarre, protecting the innocent from the threats of the paranormal. Whether those threats take the form of Stand users, spirits, or anything in between, your clients can rest easy knowing that the Last Stand Detective Agency is on the case. Players will take on the role of investigators and employees of Last Stand, each with a Stand, technique, or other special power that enables them to interact with and, when necessary, fight back against paranormal occurances on behalf of their clients. This game takes place prior to the conclusion of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean and uses the FATE Accelerated system.
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
There will be no charge for Session 0. Due to current technical restrictions on the part of the GM we will be initially unable to play through Roll20 but will move over to that platform once the matter has been resolved.

Inclusive
They've run multiple systems that I've had a blast with including D&D 5E, Shadowrun, & Marvel Multiverse. Every game they run is fun and leaves you wanting to play more. They take player safety seriously and can run any genre from lighthearted fun to serious horror. Whether you are a new player or a long time veteran you are in good hands.

Gameplay details
Players are encouraged to review, fill, and submit a copy of the Monte Cook Consent in Gaming form, available for download via my discord. Based on player responses a list of restricted and limited subject matter will be compiled for review and reference during Session 0 and throughout the campaign. If at any point during the game an event occurs which makes a player too uncomfortable to continue they may request to pause the game and discuss with the group the best means of revising the story and events to exclude or modify the triggering content. The tone and themes of this game are intended to allign with those of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime and manga. In short, expect a level of violence, blood and gore, and other potentially mature subject matter analogous to the original source material. At least one break will be scheduled each session, and players may leave the table at any point should they require. The GM also maintains an open communication policy, and players should feel free to reach out with comments, concerns and criticism regarding the game and the subject matter that comes up. FATE is a game which is largely focussed on character driven storytelling over tactics and mechanics so players should feel encouraged to lean into decisions which are narratively compelling rather than those which are solely based on tactical optimization. Leaning into your character's flaws is the fastest way to generate FATE points, the meta-currency used to activate many of your character's talents and abilities.

How will character creation work
Characters will be created collaboratively as a group during Session 0, based on the guidelines provided by the FATE Core and FATE Accelerated rule books. The rules and guidelines for character creation will be explained during Session 0, but players who are unfamiliar with the system or unaccustomed to FATE's more open-ended, narrative focused system may wish to review the rules (provided by the GM if needed) ahead of time. Of special note for this game will be your characters special abilites. This may take the form of a Stand, a secret technique, or some other paranormal power. Players should consider what abilities they want to explore and how those powers will interact with the core mechanics of the FATE system, particularly Aspects and Stunts.
