Wardens of Komek π³βπ
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
The Queen is dead. Long was her reign. The people of Komek knew more than six hundred years of peace by her hand. Her son, the young King Orren, now reigns. Many pray for King Orren to know the wisdom of his mother so that the dark days she helped to end will not return. Others pray in secret to powers whose names are no longer known in the common circles of Komek. Centuries ago, many nations united under her leadership against a great evil. Together they formed the Army of the Dawn. This army fought the forces of evil for half a century. Their blood paid for a stalemate. Lands remaining free from evil's grasp become the realm of Komek. All that lay beyond is the Forsaken Lands. The Army of the Dawn disbanded as peace grew in Komek. Some remained to forge a new organization- one to help maintain peace in the realm. Their vision went far beyond maintaining a watch on the Forsaken Lands. Internal needs drove much of their planning. They figured there was no point in all their sacrifice if the people of Komek could not flourish. They named this new organization the Wardens. Membership for the Wardens dwindled over many generations of peace. The death of Queen Nera caused a spike in recruitment. A desire to help the realm has been enough for a long career as a Warden in years past. Mere desire will not save Komek from the reckoning planned against it. The Wardens of Komek will need to equal their founders in heroism should the realm stand a chance of survival. _______________________________ My goal with this campaign is to inspire a character driven story where the differences between good and evil are easy to define. Time skips will be included to allow for long term character growth. Players will start at level 1 as new recruits for the Wardens of Komek. Stories on Aontas will last until level 12. The campaign can go to new worlds and continue to higher levels should the party wish.
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
βRule of Coolβ emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a systemβs rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
The party reached level 2 after finishing their first day of training with the Wardens. We currently have a Bearfolk Ranger, a Tabaxi Barbarian and a Tabaxi Rogue.
