Curse of Strahd | High-Res Animated Environs | LGBTQIA+ Friendly
In a land of darkness and dread, can you survive unholy terrors and defeat the lord of Castle Ravenloft?
About the adventure
Venture into the cold, mist-choked lands beneath a dim sky. A countryside thick with the oppressive feeling of dread even when the only thing you can hear is your own quickening breath, the patter of rain on infertile soil, and the steps of something stalking you through the woods. Above it all like a towering monument to your nightmares stands the castle on the cliffside and its horrid lord within, watching and waiting for you to accept his invitation. Curse of Strahd is the most popular campaign published for 5th edition, and what better way to experience it than with stunning visuals, thrilling musical score, and custom soundscapes? Your character's journey through the Domains of Dread will be enjoyed as a virtually cinematic experience (or as close as one can get with a table-top game)!

About me
Hi, I'm Leo! I've been doing games for over thirty years, and was GM for the vast majority of that time on account of there almost never being anyone else willing to run things. Over the decades, I've become accustomed to many different playstyles so I like to think that I'm pretty versatile. The most important thing, though, is that everyone is having fun and I do my best to ensure that the game is enjoyable for all involved. I spend entirely too much time gathering GM resources, so I'm bringing materials to the table like VTT licenses, animated maps, fitting music, and occasionally art if I can find the time to make it. I don't homebrew a lot, myself, but I'll always take requests under consideration. To me, the players are the main characters and I'm always looking for opportunities to help them shine. Nothing in the setting or NPC list should take up more attention as far as I'm concerned. Message me if you're interested in a game!

Creativity

Storytelling
Leo is a great GM who adapts well to the quirks and desires of his players. I'm in several campaigns he runs and always look forward to when he starts a new one. Each campaign feels different and adapted to the characters I and others are playing in them.
While Leo has been only here for a short time, I've known him through RPG.net, RPoL.net, and beyond. He is quick to answer, vibes along things, keeps an eye on the rules, and helps homebrew stuff. He makes worlds full of people doing things. You are a main character in the world, but you aren't the only one and that makes it a lot of fun.
I've played a lot of games over a lot of years and to this day, Leo here is the best game master I've ever had. His encouragement for player creativity and flexibility to wrap personalized characters into the narrative kept our adventures engaging during gritty survival and high power fantasy battles. He brings an incredible energy to his games and is an incredibly inclusive campaign leader. If you get to join a campaign of his, count yourself blessed!
Character creation
Creating your character
You'll be provided a link to join the campaign on DDB and create a character. Use the following options: Start at Level 1, Point-Buy Abilities, no Homebrew or Partnered Content, Expanded Rules okay, 2014 Core Rules material requires approval, Milestone Advancement, Fixed HP, Use Encumbrance, No Coin Weight. Character concepting may occur beforehand while Session 0 itself will be used to finalize character decisions as well as go over the safety tools and everyone's expectations.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a Discord account and a decent Internet connection, mostly due to the fancy maps and effects. Everything else will be handled by Foundry and DDB.
What Leo brings to the table
I'll be supplying the Foundry VTT license and server along with animated scenery and maps from providers such as Beneos Battlemaps, music and ambience from providers such as Michael Ghelfi, and a selection of premium modules from multiple sources. I also have a Master subscription to D&D Beyond as well as multiple associated texts to which you'll have access in addition to the character creation options once you join the campaign. I am usually pretty "Rule of Cool," but I appreciate structures and like to follow the rules as long as it doesn't create a bigger problem. Isekai Fantasy is all about showing off how much cooler the PCs are than the average folk, though, so if you find that the rules are feeling a bit inhibiting, do let me know and we can try to find a solution that will work for everyone.
