About the adventure

In this "intro to Warhammer 4e game", you will play citizens of the Empire who discover a plot to take over the entire region. Set in motion by the ancient vampire known only as Dumure, this plan has many moving parts in many areas. Travel the Empire in this sandbox style mystery adventure and do what you can to stop the undead menace! Warhammer Fantasy RPG is a grimdark fantasy game in which you play a normal person who fights with all their talents and skills to try to survive against Greekskins, undead, dragons, giants and (especially) evil nobles. This game is a bit more political than your typical Dungeons and Dragons fare, so be aware of this before you sign up for this game. There is magic within the world of Warhammer, but it is fraught with danger, with the possibilities for corruption and mutation. When wielded with Skill, magic is capable of some astounding things, but it is not as common as it is within Dungeons and Dragons. There are no "Magic shops" in Warhammer. With many Starting Careers and a host of Talents and Skills, an almost infinite number of characters are at your fingertips. Do you have what it takes to fight back against the forces of Dumure? Why don't we find out, together?

About me

Greetings and Salutations! I run a lot more games than are listed on my profile here, so if you don't see something, no worries: here is what I am currently running so you can look it up and join us! The Starving Earth: a Free Werewolf: the Apocalypse 5th Edition Story The Purple Rose and the Immortal Horse, a L5R 4e Story The Graveyard Shift: A Campaign for The Aethyrblood Chronicles Strangeness on the Inside: The Aethyrblood Chronicles Infinity - the Struggle Within: a Star Wars Story for the FFG Edition The Saga of Cobra-La: an Essence 20 Storyline Campus Slayers - an East Texas University Game for Savage Worlds "If This Be The End" - a Chronicles of Darkness Campaign Into the Deep Dark: a D&D 5e Experience (2024) Haphazard Gaming Presents: Out of the Abyss, Revisited (2024) Warhammer Fantasy: "I, Vampire" a 4e Mystery Adventure Into the Eye of Sorrow - A Numenera Story I am a professional game designer with nearly 40 years experience with myriad RPG systems. Warhammer was my first game, and it has been a passion of mine ever since. After that, I discovered TMNT & Other Strangeness, as well as the other Palladium Books RPGs they had out at the time (Ninjas & Superspies, Heroes Unlimited, Palladium Fantasy, et al). I also experimented with GURPS, Paranoia, various comic book RPGs including Marvel FASERIP, Shadowrun and quite a few others. All told, I have run at least 200 different RPGs between then and the intervening years up to these modern nights. For those in the know, I was heavily involved with the Camarilla, and when I lost interest playing with them, I wrote my own rules based off of Laws of the Wyld, and ran a Werewolf: the Apocalypse LARP for a goodly number of years. I miss my LARPing years with the vigour of an Adren Fianna or a Silver Fang Galliard. My last RPG design effort was The Aethyrblood Chronicles (TABC), a cosmic horror/supers game. I am not designing a system agnostic rules set using revised mechanics that I developed for TABC, I will be looking for official playtesters soon. Message me if you are interested. I look forward to hearing from you, and together we will rule the universe with the power of the Dark Si.... well, together we can craft some most excellent stories. Let's wonder for a spell!

Always a fun time for all. Loved working for the dragon! Eiric is well worth your investment, give him a try. An excellent storyteller for almost any game system (he knows them all... and more)

There are zero negatives about this GM and lots of positives. I am in multiple campaigns with him because of this.

Eiric creates epic worlds with a huge sense of scale and depth. He rewards his players for clever tactics in combat and imaginative role play which encourages people to fully immerse themselves in his world. Eiric fills his worlds with interesting, three dimensional NPCs and plenty of interesting homebrewed loot! As a beginner, playing with Eiric has been ideal as he has helped me learn game mechanics and has solved any technical bugs I have had as I get to grips with D&D and the technology required to play role playing games online.

I have now played with Eiric for a long time, and I’ve loved every second of it. He has a real gift for storytelling, bringing every scene, character, and plot twist to life in a way that feels immersive and unforgettable What makes it even better is how he’s always there to support you throughout the journey, offering just the right amount of help without spoiling any surprises. I’m genuinely excited to keep playing with him and see where the adventure goes next.

Interesting sand box game that was a fun intro into numenera/ cypher system. Gave help when we did get stuck, and nice occasional visual and sound aids. Very friendly DM and was great help with character creation. Allowed party to 'play' with abilities for some cool outcomes.

I loved playing with Eric! The story was always super enjoyable and the allowance of fun roleplay was great! Very helpful and knowledgeable and great for beginners or those returning to the game after a long time. I always had a lot of fun and looked forward to each session. Also very respectful of boundaries and understanding towards limitations. Eric was always very kind and patient, willing to explain anything or help out to the best of his ability. I would definitely join another game hosted by him! 100/10 would recommend.

Character creation
Creating your character

Character creation will be by the book, with an amount of Bonus Experience equal to the total number of players x100. Feel free to peruse the character creation rules, but please wait for Session Zero to actually make a character. You may play any character race from any book, excepting Ogres.

The current party

We are using the 4th Edition rules set for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. We will start with beginner characters and hopefully grow them to be stalwart protectors of the Empire. At one time, the Empire would welcome new heroes, but now these times are not. Vampires can so easily mask themselves as normal folk that it has put strangers off on their wrong foot in almost all initial impressions. Can you cut through the deception, through the shadows, through the pain...? Can you destroy Him before it is too late?

What to expect
Preparing for the session

You will need a mic in good working order. Cameras are optional, and please do not feel like you must join in and use one if you do not want to. You will need a Discord and Roll20 account, but like I said above, these are free. Once you have a Discord account, please join us at the following server link: https://discord.gg/h3M7nXa3E6 Once we have enough players to begin, I will share the Roll20 link to the game itself. This is an Intro Style game, so you need not read anything beforehand. There are no programmes you need to download. Just be ready to have fun!

What Eiric E. Padráig brings to the table

I have almost every book for Warhammer Fantasy 4e. We will be using Roll20 and Discord for the game, and accounts for each are free. I am a very Rule of Cool Gamemaster. Above all, I just want my players to have fun. I try to use unique voices for NPCs and music when I can. Combat in Warhammer is very tactical and can get quite gruesome. At the start, you will feel your character is very ineffectual - this is by the game's design. You are playing underdogs. Embrace it!

Safety
How Eiric E. Padráig creates a safe table

Session Zero will be for character creation, going over some basic rules and the safety tools we'll be using during this extended campaign. I have a Open Door policy that allows for players to come and go without questions or judgement. This also means that if you need anything to help this be your greatest game ever, I will make myself available in any way I can. Aftercare is when we make sure to check in and make sure that everyone is still enjoying the game, and it is followed by Stars and Wishes, or what we call "Rose, Bud, Thorn", where the Rose is a good thing about the session, a Bud is something you are looking forward to, and a Thorn is something you did not like. If you do not want to participate in Aftercare and Rose, Bud Thorn, you do not have to. It is optional.
