Abomination Vaults | PF2E Dungeon Crawl with Free Archetype

Pathfinder 2e | Campaign

About the adventure

It's been a week since you came to the town of Otari in search of work. Alas, apart from the occasional goblin or basement-dwelling rat, there's been little to be found, and your money is running low. But then one of the locals came to you with news: Gauntlight, a lighthouse strangely built within a swamp, has a ghostly light shining from its apex. The place is said to be lousy with all manner of foul creatures - but where such creatures lurk, you might just find some treasure too. With little other option, you decide to brave the dangers and head into the structure. What you find may be too much for even you to handle... Abomination Vaults is a grand dungeon crawl. As you explore the mysterious and deadly ruins of Gauntlight, you'll face terrible monsters, deal with deadly traps, and find valuable treasure. The crawl will take you from level 1 to level 10 - assuming you survive its perils. We'll be playing this campaign with the current Remaster rules and the Free Archetype rule from the Gamemastery Guide. New players are welcome, as are experienced hands. This is a combat-heavy AP without a lot of story or roleplaying, so come with that expectation. All my games are LGBT+ friendly.

Game style

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Dungeon Crawl

A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Steve has a lot of experience, good knowledge of the game, and runs AP's by the book. If you are looking for a firm and fair DM, he's your guy. Would rate 5 stars but combat tends to be on the more-difficult-than-I-bargained-for side 9.5 times out of 10

this is my first game on startplaying.games and ive had a lot of fun. GM Steve is a patient, creative, and knowledgable GM. adept at both storytelling and manipulation of the virtual tabletop. its a real personal kick to the junk that i gotta quit because its a lot of fun, but this fat boy has gotta make some money instead of gaming. Thanks Steve!!!

I've had a great first time on StartPlaying with Steve. Every time I've encountered a program hitch or couldn't find a rule he'd gladly and promptly offer help.

Steve's a great DM. He's always has everything prepared, he's great at using Foundry (and at helping others use it). He knows the rules and will follow them, but still will still allow for creativity and rule of cool when the situation calls for it. He's also very patient with beginners. If you're looking for a professional DM, he's what you're looking for.
