Odyssey of the Dragonlords
The age of peace draws to an end, and the sadistic titan twins plot their doom for the people of Thylea. Only great heroes of prophecy can stop them.
About the adventure
For 500 years, the Oath of Peace has kept the gods and titans from each other's throats. The archipelago of Thylia has grown populous in the centuries since the great war, but one need only look past the great monuments of the cities and prospering farmlands to find the scars of old wars. Ravening beasts haunt ancient and abandoned ruins. Armies of centaurs and giants mobilize on the northern plains. Out at sea, terrible storms unlike any in living memory darken the horizon. The titans have held their fury for for 500 years...but no longer. Join our band of mythic heroes to fight the rising threat of the titans and see the order of the Dragonlords restored in this ongoing campaign inspired by Greek myth! About the Players I am a professional DM with 11 years of gaming experience and nearly 9000 hours logged in Roll20. I enjoy running games where players are immersed in their characters and put as much emphasis on the story of the adventure as the gameplay. My goal is to ensure that everyone at the table is feels engaged and safe to express their creativity even as they slice off hydra heads and style on tyrant kings. We all in it together to craft our own little legend that is epic in scope but personal in nature. Around the table we also have three awesome players equally dedicated to storytelling and strategic combat. Currently the party consists of a studious but ill-fated wizard, a seafaring rogue cursed by her family's past, and a proud demigod wielding sword and sorcery in his quest for glory. They have made many friends and lost a few over their journey, but now they are looking for brave new recruits to swell their ranks as they sail off to face mystical lands, strange magics, forgotten civilizations, and the wrath of the Titans themselves. Details Games are held weekly at Thursday 2:30-6:30 EST. They are hosted on Roll20 with Discord used for voice chat. Players who value immersing themselves in the story and don't mind slower paced sessions will likely enjoy our game. This isn't to say that we don't get into combat, however, and fights can at times be deadly. Please message me on Roll20 with inquiries. From there I will schedule a 1 on 1 meeting with you via Discord to further discuss your character and expectations for the game. Check out the free player's guide for more info on the setting and details for building y

About me
Hello! You can call me CrunchyCrab, or Anthony. I've been a game master for six years and a player for many years before that, but I've been a storyteller my whole life. With a background in screenwriting and filmmaking, I like bringing my cinematic sensibilities to RPGs to craft memorable moments through narrative and gameplay. Roleplaying games, especially ones hosted online, create a unique opportunity to meet folks from all walks of life in all parts of the globe. I am proud to bring together people from different countries, of any and every gender-identity, and all levels of experience in my games. Creating a welcoming environment at the table is my top priority, and as such I employ safety tools that allow players to communicate clearly and without judgement—to myself and others at the table. While I'm new to the StartPlaying community, I've been running professional games on my own via Roll20 and Foundry since 2020. The pandemic inspired me to take my passion for pen and paper games and turn it into a profession. Since then I've logged more than 2,500 hours (over 100 days!) GMing games for dozens of players, many of whom have stuck with me for years. I specialize in running extended campaigns, and enjoy seeing players develop their characters over time. Although D&D and Pathfinder have been my core business, I love learning and experimenting with new systems and am always looking to add more to my repertoire. Thanks for checking me out, and I hope you find the game that's right for you!

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Storytelling
Creativity
Voices
I've played through several paid campaigns with Anthony as GM in D&D 5e -- Curse of Strahd and Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. I've seen many different personalities come and go (for life reasons, not Anthony-related), and I think what I am most impressed by is his ability to seamlessly incorporate many different personality types and player desires into a session that works for everyone involved. He's not trying to railroad his players into the novel he wrote in his spare time, but he's also not going to let one player completely derail the campaign with their own Main Character syndrome. I could detail my experiences with his knowledge of 5e, but really what I think is most important in a GM is the ability to integrate many different experiences into a unique, engaging story that players and the GM are creating together, and this is a quality that Anthony. has in spades. If you like engaging, cooperative storytelling within the framework of an RPG system -- THIS IS YOUR GUY. JUST BOOK IT.
I've been playing paid campaigns with Anthony for a couple years now. He's definitely a great DM. He knows his stuff when it comes to rules but will also allow players to try cool things that may not be in the books. I was pretty new to playing on an online platform when I started with him and he was very helpful getting me up to speed on using the system. Between the sounds, music, funny voices and storytelling, playing at his table can be quite an immersive experience. He also takes the time to make sure everyone in the group has input into what is going on so nobody feels left out of any situation. Combat is always fairly run, and sometimes deadly! RP is pretty much up to the players level of enjoyment, sometimes we can get deep in it and other times we go faster, but when we get into it he makes it fun and engaging. Whether it's official material or his own creations, all the scenarios we have played in have been a ton of fun and well worth the reasonable price. I would recommend 100%.
Anthony is a solid Pathfinder 2E Game Master. He is consistent, prepared, fair, and flexible in his game play. He does great voice performances and provides a solid technical experience in the Foundry VTT. He creates a sensitive and safe space for his players to enjoy the campaign.
I cannot express how awesome Anthony is in such a small blurb. Anthony is the best DM I've had in the 20 years I've been playing. He brings you into an immersive experience, fosters roleplay and group dynamics. His world building is off the charts and he can modify any premade module to make it fresh and fun. You will face challenges, fall in love with NPCs, be encouraged to be creative. I've I only got to play 1 game of a ttrpg, I would make sure it was with Anthony.
Character creation
Creating your character
We are using the 2014 ruleset for this game. Our group of 3 players has just reached level 7, and with campaign continuing to 15 there are many stories still to tell. This campaign features unique mythic paths for each character to build their own legend as the story unfolds. There are also setting-specific subclasses found in the player's guide linked below. Characters receive a feat of their choice at 1st level. Because of this, the variant human subrace is banned (1 free feat for everyone is enough). The Lucky feat is also banned. 3rd party content, Unearthed Arcana, and homebrew are subject to my approval.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is a microphone, a discord account, and a Roll20 account. DnD Beyond account optional.
What CrunchyCrab brings to the table
Game is run on Roll20 with heavy use of additional and customized assets provided by myself and sometimes by players. I utilize ambient music and thematic battle maps and scenes to set the mood. Our group takes sets a slower pace for roleplay to allow plenty of time for players to talk and explore their characters in depth. However, when combat does kick off we try to keep things fast, intense, and (mostly) by the book.
Homebrew rules
Drinking potions is a bonus action, use a reaction to grant flanking bonuses, 3.5 measuring rules, free 1st level feat, ban on Lucky feat and Twilight Cleric.

How CrunchyCrab creates a safe table
Player safety is always a top priority at my table. Players are free to stop gameplay at any time when they are uncomfortable with content. I am always open to modifying gameplay to veil or eliminate material that makes players feel unsafe in any way.
