About the adventure
As a Lancer, you are one of the best pilots Union has to offer, and yet, you and your companions are stranded on the dust choked surface of Havelburg. What was to be a short layover to resupply and refuel has turned into a disaster. In the few hours that the ship was left unattended, Emily, the Embrace's NHP (Non-Human Person) was abducted, her casket pried from its resting place, and you have been tasked with finding her.

Talons is a fantastic GM! She is a great communicator and gave us a really proper Session 0. She runs a great RAW game with a deep knowledge of the rules, while carefully choosing concessions for goofs and flubs as we are settling into the campaign. I think Talons runs a great balance between challenging and fun! She does really fun and distinguishable voices for the characters and is very sharp and quick during roleplay. Highly recommend!
Talons is among the best DMs I have ever had. With her talent, great communication, lovely and terrifying voices, inclusivity, carefully crafted worldbuilding, homebrew game mechanics, and a growing supportive community, she stands apart as one of the best DMs I've found on StartPlaying. She supports creativity and has interesting, serious, and hilarious characters. She adapts well to what players throw at her and builds off of player ideas. You feel as if your character is genuinely part of the world and you feel yourself fall into the world as that character. Overall, I'd give her 6/5 stars if I could.

How to prepare
Players will need access to Discord, and a microphone. Players do not need to be familiar with Foundry or Lancer as a system, though it does not hurt to read the rules before we start.
What I provide
The game will be run using the Foundry VTT, with the official maps provided as part of the module, and a full suite of custom tokens that represent each unique enemy type within Dustgrave from Retrograde Minis. As a GM I pride myself on my ability to use my voice to bring characters to life, and am looking forward to introducing you to the cast of Dustgrave. Lancer as a system lends itself to tactical combat, and I do intend to keep to this as a general rule, however, in the moment in a session if a ruling is unclear and I am uncertain I tend to rule whatever is the most charitable interpretation towards the player that makes sense given the text as written, within reason. Rule of cool is not outlawed, but will be used sparingly. My games tend to run around 3 hours, with two 5 minute breaks per week. We may run a little over time if players are all willing to, if the current scene is not yet finished, but only if we have a consensus.
Gameplay details
Dustgrave touches on themes of personhood, abduction, brainwashing, drug abuse, and trauma. The authors of the module have taken every effort to represent the matters respectfully, and I intend to do so as well as a Game Master. When signing up for this game please be aware that these themes are present, but do not hesitate to ask for adjustments to be made to ensure that you are comfortable playing. I will discuss player comfort levels with these topics prior to play, and in play make certain that players are able to use X, N, and O cards to alert me if the subject matter gets too heavy.

How will character creation work
Players will need to create their characters via Comp/Con, and must be License Level 2. If you are unfamiliar with Lancer or any of these terms I am happy to help walk you through them, though I must note that Dustgrave is not designed as an entry point to Lancer as a system.
