“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
The game has started, but new players are welcome! Feel free to sign up or message me with any questions. We will be using 2024 rules, classes, and backgrounds, but legacy subclasses and species are permitted. How to prepare
To Prepare: 🖤 A Discord account - for voice and video 🖤 A Forge account - for virtual tabletop 🖤 A D&DBeyond account - for character creation To Play: 🖤 A solid internet connection 🖤 A microphone at minimum, but a webcam is highly encouraged for that true tabletop social feel 🖤 At least a basic idea of how to play D&D5e, but I’m happy to help with the mechanics as we go 🖤 A willingness to work with the party, meet cool new friends, and step into your character for some immersive roleplay Links for everything and more details will be provided when you sign up!

Gameplay details
Curse of Strahd is an intense gothic horror story, with many disturbing elements and evil forces directly targeting your characters both mentally and physically. As such, I won’t pull any punches, but I will make use of the safety tools to make sure everyone has a creepy but fun time. We'll cover how to use these tools in our session zero, and my door is always open for questions or comments. Please check the content warnings and let me know if you have any specific phobias or triggers including or beyond what's listed.

How will character creation work
You can build your character in dndbeyond with free access to my sourcebooks. Everyone will start at level one with the standard array of stats; the campaign should bring you to level ten or so by the end. I'm happy to work with you to create a backstory that fits into the main story, giving you ties to the world and secrets to discover! We will have session zero where everyone finalizes their characters together and creates some party ties, but we'll also have an ongoing chat in discord where we can discuss ideas before everything kicks off. Once you sign up, you'll have access to detailed character creation guidelines and help.
