D&D Feywild Campaign: The Wild Beyond The Witchlight BPB
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Frivolous, Feywild, Frolics Wild Beyond The Witchlight (WBTW) is a campaign based in the Feywild, so expect lots of weird environments, wacky NPC's, and wonderful items to interact with. The campaign has lots of connections, so taking notes is important to navigate the tapestry of social interactions and hidden secrets, so it's a good campaign for roleplay. It is possible to complete the whole story without drawing your sword (if you want). Collecting gold and upgrading your gear is not as important as finding the treasures and rewards. Characters start at Lv1 and advance in level as the story progresses. The passage of time is a feature of the game PLOT -------- As children, the adventurers sneak into the Witchlight carnival without tickets, and something important is taken from each of them. Now as adults, they return seeking the retrieve that was lost. Entering the carnival they discover there is more happening behind the scenes..... You will journey into the Feyrealm of Prismear which has usurped by the hourglass coven of 3 hags. Each has their own land of Hither, Thither and Yon. Can you recover what was taken from you and restore balance to the land, freeing the prisoner in the Palace of Hearts Desire. Or will you become another lost soul? PLAY BY POST ----------------------- The whole campaign is delivered via Discord (story) and Owlbear rodeo (maps). Your DM will post at least once a day (probably more) the unfolding story, Players then post their interactions and roleplay, roll dice in D&D Beyond and Discord. And so the adventure reveals. PBP is great for people who find it hard to meet a regular schedule of games, who like to microdose on D&D daily, and who enjoy writing and getting into roleplaying. Players who really like to consider their actions and plan them out. With a mobile device, you can play anywhere - On a bus = D&D time - Standing in line for checkout = D&D time - Waiting for your grilled cheese = D&D time - Anytime = D&D time
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
PLAY BY POST ----------------------- The whole campaign is delivered via Discord (story) and Owlbear rodeo (maps). Your DM will post the unfolding story at least once a day (probably more). Players then post their interactions and roleplay, roll dice in D&D Beyond and Discord. The DM then responds, and so the adventure reveals. PBP is great for people who find it hard to meet a regular schedule of games, who like to microdose on D&D daily, and who enjoy writing and getting into roleplaying. or who find they cannot access live of face-to-face games. With a mobile device, you can play anywhere, anytime. The benefits of play-by-post are: - THOUGHTFUL ACTIONS: Take your time considering your optimal combat move or roleplay interaction. - FRIENDSHIPS: Bond with your fellow players as they become a daily presence in your life - CHARACTER BUILDING: Dive deep into your character as you roleplay through text giving as much detail to their thoughts, responses and personality as the campaign builds. - FLEXIBLE GAMING: Play anytime, anywhere with people across different time zones. No more scheduling the group to meet - WORLD BUILDING: Detailed descriptions and A permanent record of what happened in the campaign builds, so no more arguments about what was said - EVERYONE CONTRIBUTES: In this style of group, your voice and actions are always heard and counted. It's not about who is fastest.
