About the adventure

I have been a DM for over 20 years now, and Eberron is by far my favorite D&D setting. I love the lore, history, political tensions, unique outlook on magic in society, the science fiction elements, and how the player characters are set up to be awesome action-adventure heroes. My goal is to share my love and knowledge of Eberron by running a D&D 5E game that explores it. I intend for this to be a fairly free, sandbox style game in which the players are free to explore the world.

How to prepare

A working mic is required. Video is optional, and I may use video myself from time to time. I don't have any requirements about what site you create your character sheets on, so long as I have the ability to view them myself. Dice rolling will be on the honor system. If you want to roll dice digitally or physically, I don't mind either way, so long as there is no cheating involved.

What I provide

I ask that my players have at least a foundational understanding of 5E's rules. I'm not afraid to bend rules for the sake of the Rule of Cool occasionally. I tend to run theatre of mind over Discord voice. I sometimes run with a battlemap for larger battles, it is not my norm.

We're all adults here. If there is something bothering you and I can help, please let me know. I try to keep a family friendly and fun game.

How will character creation work

I prefer characters that fit within the lore and narrative of the Eberron setting, and so while official WotC content will generally be allowed, I highly recommend content from the Player's Handbook and Eberron's Rising from the Last War. I want characters that fit into this world, and as a part of character creation I will also have a series of questions for each individual player about their characters. These questions are designed to help the player and the DM both understand who the character is, seed them into the world, and provide the GM with NPCs, background, and potential hooks for character-driven stories in the game. During session 0, players will individually choose to either roll for stats or use the standard array. This is also where we should discuss plots, themes, character connections, and so on.
