Salvation's Doom (Beginner Friendly)
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
“Shh! Listen!” you hiss as you spin around and look for the sound behind you. Nothing there. Your torch flickers. Amber light dances on the sandstone walls of the ancient corridor. “What was it?” your companion whispers as he points his sword into the darkness. “Sounded like something scraping on the floor,” you mutter. “Let’s just find the crypt and get out of here,” he says, eyes darting from shadow to shadow. You nod. “The map says it’s… There.” Just on the edge of vision, down the dark corridor is a stone door secured with thick iron bands and a large corroded lock. The torchlight makes it almost seem like the demonic figures carved into the door are moving. Smiling at you. “Time to find some treasure,” you whisper. A scream of agony startles you! Spinning around you see a monstrously large serpentine body with an unnatural, wicked human face. And writhing in its fanged jaws is your companion. You scamper towards the demonic door. The serpentine creature discards your companion's body. You fumble for your blade, but the creature is faster. It strikes. ------- In SALVATION'S DOOM you... 🧙♀️ are a powerful, experienced adventurer, 🐲 battle terrifying monsters, 📜 uncover ancient secrets, 🗡️ find world shaping magic items, 🌎 explore and forge a detailed homebrewed world. This heroic adventure is suitable for veterans and beginners who like thrilling combat, immersive maps, engaging role playing, and living in a world that your character can shape. Characters begin on Level 9. ------- He was the world's greatest soothsayer. But when he failed to predict the emperor's death, he was subjected to horrific torment. His broken body was cast into a secret pit and covered with a mountain. Now, his ancestors - led by a charismatic zealot - are set to uncover him. But he is no longer simply the most powerful diviner the world has seen. Twisted and deformed by torment, and imprisonment, he has become something unrecognizable. Bestial. Unforgiving.

How to prepare
Players will need to have a working microphone and access to Discord and Roll20. These services are free to create accounts for. You are welcome to use any method of creating the character such as the Roll20 character creation tools (recommended), a physical character sheet, D&D Beyond, or another online character creation tool. You are welcome to use physical dice or digital dice. I have so many beautiful physical dice that I will be using them.
What I provide
Immersive storytelling Character voices Ambient mood setting music Detailed original maps A unique setting We will use Roll20 virtual tabletop for the battle scenes including custom maps and tokens. Scenes will have ambient music to enhance the immersive experience. Because I come from the performing arts world I am very comfortable doing voices for the characters, but players need not feel a pressure to do voices if they don't want to.
Gameplay details
This adventure takes place in a unique, home-brewed world. A session zero will be provided to go over character creation and get a feel for the world including its geography, political landscape, pantheon, threats, allies, and how your characters fit into the world. How will character creation work
You can either bring a level 9 character that you have made to our first session (Session 0), or I can supply you with a pre-made character. We will chat on discord leading up to the first session about the setting and how your character fits into it. I will use the 2024 rules, but 2014 characters will work fine in the campaign. Characters are to use -standard array stats -average hit points -human variant is allowed (if using a 2014 character) -You can have any non-magical weapons and equipment you want (short of war elephants). We will discuss your starting magical equipment. Any classes, races, or backgrounds from the Players Handbook are fine to use. If you have other character creation ideas based on official DnD content just run it past me first. The world setting we are using has some specific lore around certain races, including tieflings and drow. Home brewed character options from someone else are unlikely to be used in our sessions.
