Rise of the Drow: Greyhawk [SAT]
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Embark on an Epic Journey with "Rise of the Drow: Collector's Edition" with elements of Out of the Abyss folded in, but set in Greyhawk. Tonight, under the shimmering veil of starlight, a sacred ceremony of light unfolds on the surface world. Far below, in the sinister depths of the City of Spiders, a drow matron weaves dark magic, her eyes gleaming with ambition. She has struck a chilling pact with soul-consuming entities, beings that demand horrific sacrifices in exchange for power beyond mortal imagination. As the ritual deepens, the drow's gaze shifts upward, plotting the conquest of the world above. This colossal mega-adventure and setting will transport your characters from the vibrant, sunlit realms of the surface to the shadowy, treacherous depths of the world beneath. Here's what awaits: 🗺️ Explore Epic Locations: Journey through ancient, forgotten ruins, navigate the labyrinthine tunnels of the Underdark, and ascend to the peaks where the world's oldest secrets are whispered on the wind. ❤️ Meet Unique Denizens: Encounter a menagerie of creatures, from the enigmatic deep gnomes to the fierce and cunning drow, each with their own agendas and stories. Forge alliances, or confront foes in battles that will test your mettle. ⚔️ Battle Horrors of the Underworld: Face off against the terrifying creatures that lurk in the darkness, from mind-bending aberrations to the twisted servants of dark deities, each encounter a test of your courage and strategy. ☠ Prevent the Rise of the Drow: Your mission is clear - stop the drow matron from unleashing chaos upon the world. Every choice you make could tilt the balance between light and darkness. Dare to venture where few have tread. Dare to shape the fate of two worlds.

I am very familiar with D&D, but brand new to 5e AND online RPG. I was very nervous about joining for fear of messing up the pace and others experiences. Dan helped incredibly with all of this. He used his own personal time to help me set up my character and teach me how this all works. He gave me the confidence to move forward. He understands that you are new and helps you, even IN game. And a damn good DM. He has a voice for radio or TV announcer. He's great with the rules and narrative. He understands flow and keeps it moving. There are little or no pauses. Very colorful. I highly recommend for all players especially the new ones!
I was only able to attend one session due to DST affecting my availability. From what I've seen Daniel seems like a great DM. In the first session he set the stage very well with both scene descriptions and visual aids. Options were available from the very start for interesting RP in the village and the combat was challenging but fair. I'll be coming back for one-shots, schedule permitting, and highly recommend checking his games out.
Daniel is a very talented GM. Top caliber in all facets of the game. Knows the game cold, and knows how to tell a story while being inclusive and sharing the spotlight amongst his players. I am very impressed and it's a highlight of my week. Give him a try. You won't be disappointed.
I have been a player in Daniels games now for three or four months. I really enjoy the way he runs his games: * he keeps them moving * he has a lot of tools that he has clearly been using for a while now that he can pull out * he is respectful and encouraging in all the interactions that I have seen/heard/been a part of * I have learned a lot from him about the right way to run a game I would absolutely recommend him to others

What I provide
I bring to the board a Fantasy Ground Unity Ultimate License as well as many licensed products for 5E D&D. I have folded together Rise of the Drow with Out of the Abyss elements and the Greyhawk setting. In addition, I have a wealth of knowledge and familiarity of TTRPGs as a DM so that you have a solid and positive experience in gameplay. I am an author that brings to the table a rich world in which to explore and I am a teacher that uses those skills to help players understand how the game is played.
Gameplay details
This introductory campaign involves a balance of planning, fighting, exploring, and socializing though this varies greatly based on player choice. There is a ton of freedom although that can be daunting and choices have consequences. This game contains the themes of war, danger, and evil not appropriate for the faint of heart. In addition, since it is an open world and we may not know what we come across ahead of time.
