Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

What I provide
First and foremost I provide a free 3-part introductory system when onboarding players. First, a 1on1 Interview/Session 0, to get a read on a player and if all goes well, an invitation to the game. Second a group Session 0.5 where we can all meet on the planned game day(set to take place weekly), get a feel for each other and go through character creation and parts of world development will occur. Third is our Session 1, the first game! All three without any charge, so we all feel good about gaming together before a transaction occurs. VTT spaces are used to provide a space for players to use digital dice if they prefer, as well as using the soundscape and help depict my storytelling with visual backdrops. As far as performance, I have a decent library of voices and accents that I use to bring my worlds to life. I endeavor to have my worlds follow a through line of world defined logic that makes it feel like an organism of its own, that will ebb and flow and be changed and influenced in conjunction with players actions. I value the improv aspect of these games and have practical experience from both theater performances and other games I have GMed for, which includes weaving as much of the backstory of the PCs at my tables into the narrative to make a shared world we can all have pride in. This game is anticipated to run for approximately half a year, roughly 30 sessions broken into 6 arcs. These arcs may take between 1 and the full 5 sessions per arc to enact.

How will character creation work
Official character creation will take place during a Session 0.5, where all participating players will be on a call and craft characters using the 2014 editions and WoTC published add-ons for 5e. Homebrew/third-party classes & races will not be allowed without explicit GM approval. There will be opportunity to discuss third-party/homebrew rulesets, or carrying over better rules from the 2024 edition at this point as well. Showing up to this session with a concept and having a rough mental outline of a character beforehand will be helpful and speed up the process.
