About the adventure

Roll Call... Hot coffee and a yelling Sargeant! You are fresh recruits to the Edgewatch, the newest division of Absalom's city watch. Tasked with fighting crime during this year's Radiant Festival—a grand centennial gathering of exhibitors and wonders from around the world that this year celebrates the grand reopening of Absalom's treacherous Precipice Quarter, long a ruined haven of monsters and criminals. Soon after taking on the new beat, you learn that the fair has attracted not only cutpurses and vandals, but also poisoners, ransomers, and even a sadistic serial murderer, and it's up to you, the Agents of Edgewatch, to crack the case and bring these villains to justice!

About me

I suppose most of us here have always been drawn to tales of adventure and heroism... Maybe we would hang out with people who could make us smile with just a few words... I am sure you did to. So, now I hope that we can get together to tell many more great stories. As a kid I started with AD&D and now, 40ish years later someone finally tells me I could get more than just free pizza as a GM so... lets have some fun tonite! The spirit of those stories, is embodied in all of us and with the growth of Technology and many new great Campaigns, we can explore together so many wonderful worlds. Recently, I have spent most of my time in Golaria (Pathfinder) and the planets surrounding the Space Station Absalom (Starfinder). Now I hope we can spend some time to travel these worlds together.

How GM The Gnome creates a safe table

The Agents of Edgewatch Adventure Path centers around the player characters in their roles as newly enlisted members of the city watch. The characters start their careers resolving minor disputes but eventually become the city’s only hope against an evil power. Since this Adventure Path assumes the characters are city guards, the campaign (including this player’s guide) makes frequent reference to aspects of law enforcement and policing—themes that might hew closely to real-world situations and might make some readers uncomfortable. X-cards will be used in this Game as well as a discussion of Lines and Veils. If you are reading this player’s guide because you’re considering playing through the Agents of Edgewatch Adventure Path, we will do a session zero were we can talk about how you would like to handle themes of law enforcement throughout the campaign. As always, the consent of everyone at the table is mandatory for a safe and fun play experience, so it’s important that you discuss any concerns you have about this Adventure Path’s subject matter with the rest of our group. This Adventure Path is intended to be an action-packed romp through a fantastical metropolis full of danger and excitement, not an analysis of or mirror for real-world matters of law and justice. Nonetheless, you and your friends might not enjoy the situations or conversations that arise as a result of your unusual roles in this campaign or the horror elements. Remember that a fun game involves enthusiastic consent from everyone at the table, especially when discussing or roleplaying themes that might closely resemble sensitive issues from the not-so-simple real world. What one person might consider an opportunity to discuss real-life ethical dilemmas might be an upsetting or traumatic situation for another.
