About the adventure

It's a dangerous, thrilling, brand-new hobby. It's a counter-cultural teen lifestyle phenomenon. It's a full-blown moral panic. And it's the coolest thing ever. This is SLUGBLASTING. Overload your circuit-bent hoverboard juuuust right at a place where reality is extra thin, and you might find yourself riding high-vibrational quantum energy waves to another dimension! A dimension with no parents to tell you what to do, no responsibilities, just you, your friends, your boards, flesh-eating alien monstrosities, and endless potential. Of course, by the time you ride the portal home (or get "rescued" by the interdimensional cops) your boring old life will be waiting up for you, tapping its foot in consternation. But if you could just nail that trick you've been practicing on video, or get your custom aftermarket raygun mod to stabilize, or best of all, score a big-name sponsor, you could show 'em. You and your crew could show your peers, your families, and the revered founders of slugblasting itself who you really are, and secure your legacy forever. Slugblaster is a tabletop roleplaying game set in a world of timeless nostalgia, where teens rebel by riding through transdimensional portals to pull stunts, hang out, do tricks, show alien monsters who's boss, and figure out who they wanna be. We'll create a crew of tight-knit friends and play to find out what it's gonna take to make it to the top and become slugblasting legends.

About me

Sean is a video creator, game designer, adventure author, actor, comedian, and professional game master who brings his passion for collaborative storytelling to a wide audience. His goal is to grow and diversify the tabletop gaming hobby by inspiring people to play for the first time, players to GM for the first time, and GMs to try new games for the first time! His games are story-driven, and always include three-dimensional characters complete with unique voices, powerful factions, dynamic conflicts, thrilling scenes of tension and suspense, and a dash of humor. Play a game with Sean if you want to unlock your inner storyteller and tell an unforgettable tale! He is available to book for public drop-in/drop-out campaigns, one-shots, private campaigns, and one-on-one "campaign consultations" for GMs both amateur and professional! Feel free to direct message him for more information. Sean is an inclusive GM, and bigotry of any kind is not tolerated at his table. His games are LGBTQIA+ friendly, and open to players of all experience levels.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll create a Crew of characters together in the first session. Players who join after the first session can send me a message so we can work out whether your character is a new addition to the crew, an old friend who's finally started slugblasting, a sibling or friend of an existing crew member, or something of their own creation! In any case, I'll walk players through the character creation process.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need: -a free Discord account -a working microphone -headphones encouraged (or at least some way to block ambient noise and prevent feedback -a free account on the Role app -webcam optional (I will be on video, but no players are expected to be!) -no experience necessary! I will teach the game and any relevant rules, but you are cordially welcomed to pick up the game and learn how it works!

What Sean Foer brings to the table

I'll set up character sheets, visual aids, maps, and virtual dice on the Role app, where we'll be playing. You can expect me to bring a complete knowledge of the rules and an eagerness to teach and learn as we go, as well as fully voiced and highly motivated NPCs for you to bounce off of. The story that emerges from our play will be natural, compelling, and entirely unique to our group, as you will always have real, meaningful choices to make!

How Sean Foer creates a safe table

Before play, I'll discuss with players if there's anything they'd like to remove or veil during our game. During play, players are encouraged to send green/yellow/red light check-ins or X cards either on video, audio or text channels if we need to check in. Additionally, there is a ten-minute break about halfway through each session. And of course, we respect the rights of anyone who needs to leave for any reason.
