How to prepare

Players should make sure they have a free account of the following programs: □ D&DBeyond □ Discord Links to the campaign and server will be provided in the prep materials. Once they join the game, players are expected to join the discord and connect with me. Once I've confirmed that you understand that you signed up for a Play-by-Post game, you will get invited to a private server dedicated to your game.

Gameplay details

Play-by-Post ¤ This is an asynchronous play-by-post game. That means the game occurs over text in discord. You are not expected to block out a time every week to play. Instead, you can play at your own speed! ¤ Players are recommended to spend a moment each day to check in and catch up on posts. ¤ Separate channels and threads can be used to allow effective party splits or to extend side roleplay outside of the primary adventure. ¤ Scheduled times are billing times for the game and players are not expected to always be available then. Though this is not stopping players from doing so. Third-Party Products (3PP) ♠︎ Third-Party Products, or 3PP for short, are supplements created using the SRD for 5e or 5e 2024. ♠︎ I will be using one (1) supplement, Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting, as a guideline for crafting. I am not affiliated with Loot Tavern and simply enjoy their products. ♠︎ Other 3PP will be considered on request. I may curate homebrew content for players looking for a specific niche. D&DBeyond and Avrae ♣︎ Players will use a combination of D&Dbeyond and Avrae to automate and keep track of their characters. The use of Dicecloud v1 or v2 will also be allowed. ♣︎ Players do not need to know how to use Avrae upon signing up, but should be ready to learn. ————————— Safety Details ————————— ♥︎ I host a TRASH (Transphobic, Racist, Ablest, Sexist, Homophobic) free environment. Purposeful TRASH behavior will not be tolerated. Unintentional TRASH behavior will be warned. ♥︎ Anonymous safety tools via Avrae !safety alias allows for a conflict free way to let me know that you are uncomfortable or need the current discussion to stop. ♥︎ Safety issues will be discussed in private first and an open discussion will be had where I discuss any concerns brought to me anonymously to the whole group. ♥︎ Spicy and NSFW content may be allowed if the whole table agrees. This is an opt-in option and must be agreed upon through an anonymous poll. ♥︎ Not all safety concerns are listed below. A safety check in will occur before any situation arises that might be uncomfortable to players to ensure I can run the part as intended.

Mechanical Creation Rules ————————— ● Sources - Players may use player content from the 5e 2024 Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual, Forgotton Realms Player Guide, and Forgotten Realms Setting Guide ● Level - Players start at level 1, but should expect to reach level 3 quickly. ● Starting Gear - Players will start with their gold start (B option) for both class and origin. ————————— Lore Creative Hooks ————————— These are example reasons why you may be in Neverwinter Academy signed up to be a hero. You are fully welcome to come up with your own! ▪︎ In Times of Need: When you heard the call for aid, you felt urged to respond. Whether due to faith or personal justice, you couldn't look away as so many suffered under the cruel plague. ▪︎ Magical Deviant: This plague defies all logic, refusing to be cured through normal means. This has drawn many bright minds to Neverwinter, like moths to a flame, to study why this is. You are no different. ▪︎ For the Glory: Hero is a title given to those who bravely perish in acts of great sacrifice. Living Hero titles elevates yourself to be memorialized in history. You seek that fame for one reason or another. ▪︎ Expensive Dues: Those who would be dubbed as heroes are given free food, a place to stay, and a small stipend for simply listening to a couple of teachers. Graduate and the gold flows farther. For whatever reason you want this money and so you are here. • Close to Home: Whether you live in Neverwinter or not, you have seen the suffering of the Wailing Death first hand more than others. Perhaps someone you know is suffering from the affliction or has been swallowed by it's cruel fate. Regardless, you are here to find this cure and stop the grieving it causes.
