Age of the Undead - D&D 5E lvl 3-5

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

In a world dominated by the dead, living settlements are few and far in between. Constantly assaulted by Necromancers and wild undead alike, only the strongest fortresses can survive. However, to be able to maintain residency in these essential bastions of resistance, one must contribute. You and your party act as scouts and messengers to earn your keep. You facilitate trade, collecting information, and gathering resource, and the settlement provides you with food, a place to sleep, and walls to rest behind. Come see if you can survive the dead! This is a Dungeons & Dragons homebrew Zombie apocalypse game. Players will be playing in an adventure that involves transporting important information and material in an attempt to make a difference in the world. Players will be dealing with zombies, abnormal undead, and roleplaying hard survival choices.

As a player, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience some great one-shot games, but the session I had recently was so much fun — and a big part of that was due to the fantastic Game Master who ran it. Here’s my review of the experience: From the moment we started, the GM’s storytelling hooked us. He set the scene with such vivid descriptions that we could see the world unfolding in front of us. His ability to weave the plot around our decisions made us feel like we were truly part of the world. The GM’s sense of humor and timing was spot-on, and he knew when to let the players lead and when to keep the narrative driving forward. He had an incredible ability to engage with each player individually while still keeping the group dynamic strong. Whether it was letting us showcase our character’s unique skills or making sure everyone had their moment to shine in the spotlight, no one felt left out. He knew exactly when to give us time to explore our characters and when to push us forward to keep the momentum going. It was clear that the GM wanted us to have a great time, and he made sure everyone did. This one-shot was, hands down, one of the most fun and well-run games I’ve ever experienced. The GM created an environment where everyone could have fun, be creative, and enjoy the experience together. He made the game feel alive, and his enthusiasm was contagious. If you’re ever lucky enough to play in one of his games, I highly recommend it. You’re in for an unforgettable adventure!

I’ve had the chance to play in a few campaigns with Logan, and I can honestly say they’re one of the best GMs I’ve had. Whether it’s D&D, Savage Worlds, or Vampire the Masquerade, they always bring something special to the table. In D&D, they manage to keep the game fun and exciting while making sure everyone gets their moment to shine. The world they build feels alive, and your choices actually matter. For Savage Worlds, they handle the fast-paced action like a pro, always keeping things moving without ever feeling rushed. They’re great at handling all the crazy things players throw at them. And for Vampire the Masquerade? Perfect. They really get the vibe of the game. Honestly, Logan is a blast to play with and makes every game a memorable experience. If you get the chance to join one of their campaigns, don’t miss it!

Great game and lots of fun for a rules-lite. Loved who he chose to model the witch and witch hunter off of, and the game was just as madcap and crazy as I had hoped. Inspired me to run my own version for PbP. Thanks, would play again.

How to prepare

Players will need a decent Mic, discord, and Roll20. We will mainly play on Roll20, but I will have discord as a back up if Roll20 has problems with connecting through Voice. We will also use Discord to connect in between games. What you can expect in a typical session: Everyone logging into Roll20. After everyone is connected we are ready to go. This game will have the potential for high tension roleplaying and brutal combat (fret not, there is enough room for some silly content too). I expect everyone to be on time and ready for the session and for them to stay for the entirety unless an emergency happens. This is a mature game and any topic may come up at the table in game, if there are any specific lines you would like to avoid crossing please feel free to message me and I will make a note of it. There will be a 10-minute break around mid-session for grabbing snacks, drinks, and bio breaks. House Rules -Potions: It is a bonus action to swig a potion or you can take a full action to drink the potion and gain the max amount of health back. -Death Saves: Death saving throws are done privately by me. -Vicious Mockery or Tasha’s Hideous Laughter: If your joke/insult makes me laugh, the target gets no saving throw.

What I provide

I provide Highly detailed and dynamic maps, monstrous tokens, and an world filled with undead, both the horde kind and abnormal kind.

Gameplay details

This game will have a session zero, where you can either choose a pregen or create your own level 3 character. In that session zero, we do voice checks, go over safety tools, as well as develop each of your character tie ins, so that the world can feel that much more immersive.
